  • Patent number: 4640733
Abstract: An apparatus for inserting an internal lid (6, 7) in a tubular formed container (1) and for sealed connections of the lid to the inner of the container tube by constant heat welding, high frequency welding or ultrasonic welding and comprising a carrier (8) for holding the container tube (1) while introducing and weld connection the lid (6, 7), a support provided above the carrier (8) for positioning a plane punched out lid blank having a larger outer periphery than the inner periphery of the container tube, a piston means (16) pressing the lid blank into the container tube while folding a narrow edge rim (7) upwards from the lid plane (6) and in which the piston means comprises a lower piston part (18) and an upper piston part (20) which are axially movable in relation to each other and an expandable means (19) between said two piston parts (18, 20) which expandable means is pressed radially outwards when the two piston parts (18, 20) are compressed.

  • Patent number: 4619636
Abstract: In a method of producing a container having a bellows bottom (2) and a protection lid (3), sleeve (1) is maintained in one axial position while a bellows bottom blank (27) is pressed into sleeve (1) to a position whereat it is welded in place by heating the thermoplastic, whereupon sleeve (1) is axially moved to and maintained in another position and lid blank (3) is pressed into sleeve (1) to position whereat lid blank (3) is similarly welded in place. The apparatus comprises a carrier (9) having an opening for supporting sleeve (1) in each of two (raised and lowered) positions, a welding ring (10) around the opening for melting the adhesive, and a plunger (11) for successively pressing the two blanks (27, 3) into sleeve (1), while at the same time shaping them and forming a folded rim or flange on each.

  • Patent number: 4606462
Abstract: The powder proof container of this invention comprises end closures and a tubular sleeve that is formed from an initially flat rectangular blank of cardboard having an inner surface layer of weldable material. A pair of opposite side edges of the blank abut one another at a seam extending all along one side of the sleeve. A joining strip, adhered to the weldable material, extends across the butt joint and all along it to seal the seam. Cut lines in the sleeve, extending around it from a tongue at the seam, define a tear strip which is removable by outward pull on the tongue and removal of which divides the container into two parts that are hingedly connected by the joining strip.

  • Patent number: 4556152
Abstract: An opening means for containers especially powder proof, liquid proof or gas proof containers of the type which at least at one end is closed by means of an end closure (2) providing an openable end panel (3) which for instance over a sealing edge (4) sealingly engages the container sleeve and in which the end closure is punched through along a line (6) of the end panel (3) extending some distance inside of the sealing edge (4). At the lower surface the end panel (3) carries a sealing foil (12) of a weldable or solderable material which is welded or soldered to the end panel (3) so as to seal the through punching (6) of the end panel (3). The end panel (3) is made of a material having higher shearing strength than that of the material of the lower sealing foil, so that the container can be opened along a sharp line corresponding to the through punching (6) of the end panel (3).
