Abstract: Disclosed is a building water safety device, having a shut-off valve and a shut-off element, and having an actuator that is mechanically coupled to the shut-off element and moves the shut-off element between the open and closed positions. A sensor device for detecting the presence of a person in the area of a water removal point and a control device are provided, where the control device is operatively coupled to the sensor device and the actuator to open the shut-off element if a sensor signal signaling the presence of a person in the area of the water removal point is received from the sensor device and/or to close the shut-off element if a sensor signal signaling the absence of a person in the area of the water removal point is received from the sensor device.
