  • Patent number: 7711824
Abstract: An access system (ACC1) for relating service providers (SP1-SPn) to users (U11-Um1) includes an edge access server (EAS) connecting the service providers and penults (P1-Pk) connecting the users. User devices (UD11-UD14) are connected via VLAN:s to a user ports (UP11) on the penult. The edge access server has service agents (SA1-SAn), an administrator (AD1) and a broadcast handler (BH1), which forms a handling system together with handlers (H1-Hk) in the penults. A user (U11) decision including VLAN, service (SP1) and user port (UP11) is sent to the administrator (AD1), which dynamically allocates to the relevant service agent (SA1) a MAC address, defining a relation (R11). A user device (UD11) broadcasts a DHCP request unicasted together with user port (UP11) to the braoadcast handler (BH1). The user device (UD11) gets its IP address and IP address to the service agent (SA1). The device (UD11) broadcasts an ARP request which is unicasted by the penult (P1), to get the MAC address to the service agent (SA1).

  • Patent number: 6738981
Abstract: The present invention discloses a general access system for access to communication services, such as telecommunication, data communication and distribution of TV and radio. The access system comprises a connectivity network, a number of access adapters connected to the communication network, a number of service providing networks, each connected to access adapters, a number of network terminals connected to the connectivity network and to a number of terminals. Service access points of the service providing networks are distributed to all the network terminals which belongs to subscribers of that particular service. Applications in the network terminals enhance and/or combines the services from different service providing networks and offers them to users via the terminals.

  • Patent number: 6515996
Abstract: A modem with IP support includes a device for autonomous, simultaneous access to the services of a switched telephony network and to the services of an IP based network. The autonomous, simultaneous access is established over a dialled up connection and is provided using the IP protocol.

  • Patent number: 6320857
Abstract: A method and a device for providing a telephone service to a subscriber which over a computer and a modem has an ongoing Internet session with a an Internet access server over an IP link established over a connection in the telephony network. A telephony application allowing for voice transmission over the IP connection is running on the computer. A telephony server has access to the public network and to the Internet access server. Upon start up of the telephony application the telephony server requests forwarding of calls to the subscriber's own telephone number to go to the telephony server from which they are transported over the IP access server to the subscriber's computer. Speech is transported as compressed audio.

  • Patent number: 6295293
Abstract: A network terminal and an Internet Protocol IP access node in an access network. The network terminal gives instant access to a multitude of communication services such as telephony, video, data, multi media as well as services provided by Internet. In the access network IP is used as an internal multiplexing and transport technique. The speed at which data is transported on the access line is limited by the used modem technique, not by the restrictions posed by the general public switched telephone network. Several terminals may be connected to one and the same access line.
