  • Patent number: 8541753
Abstract: A method for detecting contamination on a moving object moving in a longitudinal direction past a plurality of detectors, wherein a count rate is captured repeatedly by each of the detectors during the movement of the object past the detectors, the captured count rates are weighted in that the count rates of the detector(s) that have a greater separation distance from the object to be measures are weighted lower than the count rates of the detector(s) that have a smaller separation distance from the object to be measured.

  • Patent number: 8119993
Abstract: A method for detecting contamination on a moving object moving in a longitudinal direction past a plurality of detectors, wherein during the movement of the object past the detectors, a count rate is recorded repeatedly at each of the detectors, and before an evaluation whether contamination is present, the recorded count rates are subjected to a validity test as to whether the count rates recorded by the detectors belong to a class of predetermined reference patterns for the count rates.

  • Patent number: 7301152
Abstract: A scintillation detector for measuring radioactive particle radiation includes at least one planar detector element made from a scintillator material. Each detector element is provided with a light guide which is placed on at least one planar side of the element, the light guide having two ends that are guided into an evaluation unit and which is configured as a wavelength shifting fibre. The evaluation unit includes one or more photomultipliers and a logic unit to which the signals of the photomultiplier(s) are applied. The two ends of the light guide are respectively connected to a separate photomultiplier or a channel of a photomultiplier and the outputs of the photomultiplier(s) are connected to the logic unit which produces an output signal for a detector element when the signals are substantially simultaneously applied to the ends of the light guide of a detector.

  • Patent number: 6922654
Abstract: Method for the detection of an exceeding of a predetermined limiting value in a radioactivity measurement. A total duration of measurement for a contamination measuring device is calculated. Several single measurements are performed with the measuring device, with duration of measurement shorter than the total duration of measurement. After each single measurement, a probability is calculated on the basis of the previously measured measurement values. If the calculated probability is smaller than or equal to the limiting value, a signal is generated and the procedure is ended. Otherwise, further single measurements are performed.
