The release liner film and/or the carrier film thereby comprise at least one separation edge brought about thermally, at least partially defining a peripheral edge of the patch. The invention further relates to a method for producing such a transdermal patch and to a tool for producing the patch according to the method according to the invention. Crystal growth in the active substance layer can be reliably prevented by the patch according to the invention.
