  • Patent number: 8812458
Abstract: Provided is a method for the adaptive updating of building block architectures and designs in the event of a change to a component of the building block architecture. When a specific component of the architecture, or SBB, is replaced or modified, the metadata associated with the new or modified component is placed in a building block repository. The system captures or recognizes the event and automatically makes updates to dependent components of the specific component. Such updates may include, but are not limited to, a substitution or replacement of one component with another, generally if the replacement component is a better fit in the solution architecture than the original component. A new or updated system architecture is generated to reflect the replaced and/or modified components and the associated metadata. In the alternative, the system notifies an administrator to make specific changes in components rather than implementing the changes automatically.

  • Patent number: 8055632
Abstract: Provided is a system for generating an on-demand, custom runtime solution to a user or business's computing needs. A library of software components corresponding to different computing tasks of a business situation is created. Each software component is associated with one or more meta descriptors. The software components and related meta descriptors are managed by means of a software component meta management system (SCMMS). Meta descriptors are self adaptive in a manner that reflects real use scenarios. Meta descriptors describe both static and dynamic attributes of components.

  • Patent number: 7797678
Abstract: A license package generator for use with a solution builder tool having behavioral model instances for system solution components, the instances being configured by behavioral and interface parameters by user inputs, the package generator accessing and obtaining a license code for each configured behavioral model instance for which a license is available in a data repository, creating or modifying an electronic license information package file to include list of license numbers associated with the license codes and notes selected regarding license serial number, a software package enabling code, a software package unlocking code, a granting source of a license, a component feature description, and an issue date of a license, and storing the electronic license package file stored in a computer memory.

  • Publication number: 20100088377
Abstract: A method and computer program product for defining a main email thread having a main thread distribution list defining one or more main email thread participants. One or more email messages may be associated with the main email thread. A sub email thread may be defined based upon, at least in part, the main email thread. The sub email thread may have a sub distribution list defining one or more sub email thread participants. The one or more sub email thread participants may include one or more of the main email thread participants. One or more email messages may be associated with the sub email thread.

  • Patent number: 7620885
Abstract: Electronic documents related to a computer system solution having a plurality of computing components are aggregated and bundled by a solution building wizard having configurable behavioral models associated with a system solution design, a plurality of configured instantiations of the behavioral models previously configured to contain behavioral and interface parameters according to a set of user inputs to define connection logic pairs or groups of the model instances, a documentation retriever which determines that one or more electronic documents are available for each of the configured behavioral model instance and requesting and retrieving the available electronic documents, and a documentation bundler aggregating the retrieved documents into an electronically deliverable document bundle.

  • Patent number: 7617224
Abstract: Provided is a method for generating an on-demand, custom runtime solution to a user or business's computing needs. A library of software components corresponding to different computing tasks of a business situation is created. Each software component is associated with one or more meta descriptors. Aggregate descriptors are created that define relationships between software components and other software components, software components and aggregate descriptors and between aggregate descriptors. The software components and related meta and aggregate descriptors are managed by means of a software component meta management system (SCMMS). Employing the SCMMS, software components are registered and managed in a hierarchical structure based upon the interrelationships among the software components and the aggregate descriptors. The hierarchical structure is multi-layered, with different layers having different scopes. Users specify the number of levels and how the levels are defined.

  • Publication number: 20090276458
Abstract: Provided is a method for the adaptive testing, updating and verification of a building block architecture and design, such as a solution building block (SBB) architecture design, in the event of a change to the building block architecture and or a component of the architecture. Typically, an on-demand, custom solution to a user or business's computing needs has a specific architecture and a common metadata definition that defines attributes and dependencies among components. When a specific, or target, component of the architecture, or SBB, is replaced or modified, the metadata associated with the new or modified component is placed in a building block repository. The system captures or recognizes the event and automatically generates workflows that enable a user to test, validate, implement and, if necessary, make additional changes to the architecture.

  • Patent number: 7496570
Abstract: Provided is a method for generating an on-demand, custom runtime solution to a user or business's computing needs. A library of software components corresponding to different computing tasks of a business situation is created. Each software component is associated with one or more meta descriptors. The software components and related meta descriptors are managed by means of a software component meta management system (SCMMS). Based upon customer, input, various components are selected, or filtered, for incorporation into a business runtime solution. In addition to the user input, user queries are feedback into the SCMMS so that the SCMMS accumulates knowledge about the customer's usage. The knowledge is then employed to facilitate and improve the generation of future runtime solutions for both the customer and other customers.
