  • Patent number: 5614322
Abstract: A foldable plastic tail or rear window shield for a car top or hood comprises a polyurethane monolayer. It is produced by pouring or casting a reaction mixture onto a planar casting or pouring substrate. The reaction mixture contains a bifunctional hydroxyl group-containing polyester, a trifunctional polyol, a polyisocyanate from a cycloaliphatic isocyanate urea adduct dissolved in a isophorone diisocyanate and optionally a bifunctional isophorone diisocyanate.

  • Patent number: 5277944
Abstract: A process for the manufacture of a plate, sheet or film made of an impact-resistant polymer having thereon a scratch-resistant flexible coating of transparent polyurethane is described comprising the steps of:(i) applying a first reaction mixture on the plate, sheet or film of impact-resistant polymer, said first reaction mixture comprising:(a) an isocynate component and(b) a polyol component, and(ii) applying a second reaction mixture onto said first layer before said first layer has completely hardened, said second reaction mixture comprising(c) a second isocynate component, and(d) a second polyol component. The first reaction mixture has a composition which guarantees good adhesion to the plate, sheet or film whereas the second reaction mixture exhibits excellent scratch resistance.

  • Patent number: 4657796
Abstract: A polyurethane coating layer, with self-repairing properties, for panes made of glass and/or plastic materials, which are exposed to atmospheric agents. The coating layer according to the invention is formed from a reactive mixture of a trifunctional isocyanate component such as the biurets or isocyanurates of 1,6 hexamethylenediisocyanate, having a content of about 15 to 25% by weight of NCO radicals and a polyalcohol component chosen from the plurifunctional polyester polyalcohols having about a 3 to 12% by weight content of OH radicals.
