Abstract: There is provided an illumination system including a driving device including a rectifier configured to receive alternating current (AC) power from an external power source, rectify the AC power, and output rectified power, and a constant current driver configured to receive the rectified power from the rectifier and output constant current; a light emitting device including at least one light emitting diode (LED) driven with the constant current of the driving device, and a forward direction current transmitter configured to control the constant current of the driving device to be applied to the LED in a forward direction; and a detachable electrical connector connecting the driving device and the light emitting device to one another.
