  • Patent number: 6302289
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a safety device in an opening arrangement for packaging containers, the opening arrangement having a part fixedly connected to the packaging container and a lid portion displaceable in relation thereto. In the closed position of the opening arrangement, a tongue-shaped projection (9) extends via a slit (15) into a recess (14) in the openable part. The projection (9) will thus be partly visible from the upper side of the opening arrangement until such time as the moving part (4) has been displaced to an open position in which the projection (9) irreversibly departs from the recess (14) and gives a clear, visual indication that the opening arrangement has previously been opened.

  • Patent number: 5676629
Abstract: A method and apparatus for transferring tabs to a continuous material web in connection with the manufacture of packaging material in conversion machines includes the use of a transfer wheel which is located between a supply station for tabs and a deposit station, in which the wheel is located in contact with the packaging material web. With the aid of retainer jaws displaceable in a circumferential direction of the wheel, and fixedly disposed abutments, the position of each tab transferred to the wheel is corrected before the tab reaches the deposit station, so that the transfer to the packaging material web takes place in accurate register with markings previously provided on the web. The method and apparatus is well-suited for use in connection with continuous material webs travelling at high rates of speed, such as 400 to 500 meters/minute.

  • Patent number: 5620550
Abstract: A packaging material for producing packages includes a foundation layer that is provided with a through hole. A thermoplastic strip covers the through hole and an outer layer completely covers the thermoplastic strip and foundation layer. Various other layers can also be laminated to the foundation layer. When the thermoplastic strip is torn off, the various other layers accompany the thermoplastic strip, thereby exposing the through hole.

  • Patent number: 5528987
Abstract: A rotary printing press built on a frame structure in which printing units, normally mounted on a floor foundation, are instead suspended from the frame structure to minimize clutter in the vicinity of the printing press and simplify the operation of changing the printing units when a printing run is complete.

  • Patent number: 5528986
Abstract: The plural cylinders comprising a printing unit in a rotary printing press, are mounted for synchronous rotation within a single frame structure, aligned under the impression cylinder, such that the frame structure including the cylinders is removably securable to the printing press as a cassette unit. Each cylinder is rotatably journalled within a bearing housing, which is displaceable on a vertical bearing rail. A hydraulic cylinder is disposed under the lowermost bearing housing for lifting and lowering the cylinders, to selectively raise them into engagement or lower them out of engagement.

  • Patent number: 4968309
Abstract: A connection including two attachable halves having respective unions, and a device movably supported within a first half and enclosed within a space defined by the halves. The device is movable to open flow channels between the unions when the halves are attached to one another, and to block the flow channels at least when the halves are separated from one another. The space communicates with or constitutes a part of the flow channels when the device is in one position, or when the halves are in a relative position separate from the connection position. The space forms a closed chamber separated from the flow channels when the device is in another position, or when the halves are in an attached position. A fluid, preferably with disinfectant properties, may be introduced into and removed from the space through penetrable membranes in walls of the halves.

  • Patent number: 4957485
Abstract: An arrangement for the instillation of fluids in a urethra comprising a tube of rigidity and diameter to be capable of being introduced into the urethra. The invention is characterized in that the length of the tube is a fraction of the length of the urethra, or approximately one decimeter. Along most of its length the tube is executed with an inflatable sac with elastic walls. This exhibits straight cylindrical form in its uninflated state, and in its inflated state has a slim, conical form, the base of which is situated at the end of the tube, and the tip of which is attached to a flange near the other end of the tube. Near the flange the sac has a connection via which the sac can be inflated with and emptied of air. The arrangement also comprises a device adapted to suit the opening of the urethra, made of an elastic material, and anchored to the flange. The device is executed with a connection leading to a vacuum source.

  • Patent number: 4798595
Abstract: The present invention relates to an injection arrangement. This is characterized in that it comprises an injection needle (1) and a base plate (8). The needle (1) is curved so that at least one part of it exhibits a circular arc with a certain radius of curvature. The needle (1) is executed at one end with a solid, cutting point (2). The needle (1) has a central duct (3) which is closed in the area ahead of the tip (2) of the needle, and along the area in the form of a circular arc it has a number of openings (6) communicating with the duct (3). The base plate (8) has two curved ducts (11,12) passing through the plate (8) at an angle to one another and with the same radius of curvature as the needle (1). The base plate (8) also supports a cradle (13), to which the needle (1) is attached, which cradle is able to move in the base plate in such a way that the needle (1) is able to move in a normal plane to the plane of the base plate (8) in a reciprocating fashion about the center of the radius of curvature.

  • Patent number: 4785859
Abstract: A vessel for receiving fluid includes a flexible part having a closed end and an opening at its opposite end, and a rigid protective cover, the edges of the opening in the flexible part being attached to the rigid cover in a manner such that the inside of the flexible part and the inside of the cover define a closed interior space, the flexible part being capable of being drawn up against the inside of the protective cover upon evacuation of the interior space whereby the flexible part is received within the protective cover. A connection member is provided on the outside of the protective cover, the connection member having a bore therethrough and a perforatable, resilient, self-sealing membrane extending across the bore, through which membrane a puncturing member may be inserted for removing material from or adding material to the interior space.
