  • Publication number: 20130190001
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for providing location information in a wireless communication network. The method includes initiating a transmission of the UE's location information to the network when a positioning status of the UE becomes available or when the UE needs to provide the positioning status to the network.

  • Publication number: 20130182626
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for reducing UE power consumption in the RRC connected mode. The method includes the UE entering a dormant state in which the UE does not monitor PDCCH (Physical Downlink Control Channel) scheduling during On_Durations. The method also includes the UE leaving the dormant state upon reception of a paging message with a specific indication, such as downlink data arrival or transmission.

  • Publication number: 20130163538
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for CQI (Channel Quality Indicator) reporting after the introduction of a new carrier in a wireless communication system, wherein the UE is served by a first downlink carrier that is backward compatible and is configured with a first CQI report configuration for the first downlink carrier. The method includes (i) receiving a first radio resource control (RRC) message to configure a new carrier to the UE, wherein the new carrier is associated with the first downlink carrier for operation, (ii) receiving a second RRC message to configure a second CQI report to the UE for the first downlink carrier and the new carrier, and (iii) applying the second CQI report configuration for CQI reporting for the downlink carrier and the new carrier when the new carrier is activated or configured.

  • Publication number: 20130142140
Abstract: A method and apparatus are: disclosed for improving SPS operation in a wireless communication system. The method includes configuring an user equipment (UE) with a downlink (DL) assignment or an uplink (UL) grant through a PDCCH (Physical Downlink Control. Channel) addressed by a SPS C-RNTI (Semi-Persistent Scheduling Cell Radio Network Temporary Identity). The method also includes receiving, at the LIE, a reconfiguration message for a SPS (Semi-Persistent Scheduling) operation in a higher layer, such as a RRC (Radio Resource Control) layer. The method further includes reconfiguring, at the UE, the SPS operation based on the reconfiguration message if the reconfiguration message includes a release of the SPS operation.

  • Publication number: 20130121309
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for improving low-cost MTC (Machine-Type Communication) devices in a wireless communication system. The method includes broadcasting, in a system information, a first information used for cell re-selection. The method further includes providing a second information, for a neighboring cell or a frequency, that is used for cell re-selection.

  • Publication number: 20130083708
Abstract: A method and apparatus for TDD inter-band carrier aggregation in a wireless communication system includes performing aggregating multiple cells with different TDD UL-DL configurations, transmitting a PUSCH transmission on a first cell, the subframe for HARQ feedback reception for the PUSCH in a first cell colliding with a UL subframe in a second cell, and performing one of setting the corresponding HARQ feedback to ACK, flushing the corresponding HARQ buffer, and changing the corresponding HARQ feedback subframe for the PUSCH to another subframe.

  • Publication number: 20130083748
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for processing CSI (Channel State. Information) in a wireless communication system, The method includes configuring a User Equipment (UE), in a subframe, to transmit periodic CSI reporting and HARQ-ACK (Hybrid Automatic Repeat and request-Acknowledgement), wherein there is no PUSCH (Physical Uplink Shared Channel) transmission in the subframe. The method further includes indicating in the PDCCH (Physical Downlink Control Channel) scheduling the PDSCH (Physical Downlink Shared Channel) transmission to which the HARQ-ACK corresponds, wherein whether the periodic CSI reporting and the HARQ-ACK are multiplexed on PUCCH (Physical Uplink Control Channel) or not would depend on the indication in the PDCCH.
