    Abstract: An electrophotographic imaging device includes a sensor for detecting uncontained toner. When the uncontained toner reaches a predetermined threshold, a warning signal can be generated indicating that a cleaning of the printer is recommended. With the present invention, potential print defects and/or mechanical jams may be reduced by avoiding excess accumulation of uncontained toner in the imaging device.
