The energy can be in the form of pulsed EMF or continuous EMF waves. The methods and apparatus are applicable, for example, in a variety of plant products including the treating of corn, soybeans, peas, wheat, wheat flour, and durum pasta and in a variety of industrial processes including wet and dry milling and refining operations. The methods and apparatus in particular embodiments relate to the drying of corn with potential for high energy efficiency while achieving advantageous, high quality dried corn, with a low to very low level of cracks.
