Abstract: A method for adding an electronic component to, removing an electronic component from, or exchanging an electronic component of a rack module mounted in a rack. The rack module includes a frame. The method includes the following: moving a tray connected to the frame from a first position to a second position, in the first position the tray is received within the frame such that an open face of the tray is inaccessible, and in the second position the tray lies outside the frame at an angle to the frame such that the open face is accessible; adding, removing, or exchanging the electronic component through the open face; and moving the tray from the second position to the first position after the electronic component has been added, removed, or exchanged.
