  • Patent number: 7886842
Abstract: A wellbore servicing apparatus, comprising a first mandrel movable longitudinally along a central axis and rotatable about the central axis, an orienting member configured to selectively interfere with movement of the first mandrel along the central axis, and a second mandrel connected to the first mandrel and configured to rotate about the central axis when the first mandrel rotates about the central axis. A method of orienting a wellbore servicing tool, comprising connecting an orienting tool to the wellbore servicing tool, identifying a predetermined direction, increasing a pressure within the orienting tool, rotating a portion of the orienting tool in response to the increase in pressure within the orienting tool, and rotating the wellbore servicing tool in response to the rotating of the portion of the orienting tool.

  • Publication number: 20090120633
Abstract: Methods for cleaning or stimulating a well include providing an isolation device, providing a penetration device, isolating a zone, and penetrating a portion of the formation utilizing the penetration device. Isolating and penetrating may occur in a single trip into the well. The isolation device may include one or more packers. The penetration device may be a pulsating/oscillating hydrajet that introduces fluid pressure waves into the formation.

  • Publication number: 20060272821
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for generating fluid pressure pulses are disclosed. An example apparatus may include a chamber that can collect fluid and an upstream ported disc coupled to a downstream end of the chamber. The upstream ported disc may rotate about a central axis. The upstream ported disc includes an upstream eccentric port that rotates about the central axis as the upstream ported disc rotates. The example apparatus may include a downstream ported disc coupled to a downstream end of the upstream ported disc such that the downstream ported disc remains substantially rotationally fixed relative to the upstream ported disc. The downstream ported disc includes a downstream eccentric port that may align with the upstream eccentric port to form a passageway for fluid to exit from the chamber to outside of the apparatus, at some time in a rotation cycle of the upstream ported disc.

  • Publication number: 20060260819
Abstract: A run-in and retrieval device for a downhole tool comprises a first set of lugs disposed on a first component of the device connected to a tool string, and a second set of lugs disposed on a second component of the device connected to the downhole tool, wherein the first set of lugs interact with the second set of lugs in a connected position. A method for running at least one downhole tool into a well bore comprises forming a releasable connection between an overshot connected to a tool string and a mandrel connected to the at least one downhole tool, running the at least one downhole tool into the well bore via the tool string, manipulating the at least one downhole tool in the well bore; and, rotating the overshot less than 360 degrees with respect to the mandrel to release the connection therebetween.
