  • Patent number: 11720721
Abstract: An aircraft assembly system as described herein includes an input module, a database, and a processing unit. The input module is adapted for inputting customer-specific data and, in particular, parameters which relate to the expected time of delivery, the number of personnel working in the aircraft assembly system or an apparatus of the system which cannot be used. By applying description logics, the processing unit generates a manufacturing plan in accordance with a set of rules and the input parameters. In order to improve the manufacturing plan, input parameters may be changed by the system in an iterative process. This may provide for an efficient use of resources available.

  • Patent number: 10494122
Abstract: The disclosed subject matter relates to a component design system for generating aircraft component designs. The component design system includes a database having a set of rules representative for different load characteristics of different component geometries. The component design system further includes an input module for inputting user-specific load characteristics relating to an aircraft component to be generated and a processing unit for determining a variety of geometrically different aircraft component designs based on the input user-specific load characteristics and the set of rules. The disclosed subject matter also relates to an aircraft assembly system having a component design system, a method for generating aircraft component designs, a program element, and a computer-readable medium.
