Abstract: A product and a process for using a resilient, self-lubricating, shaped product for use in minimizing friction when the surface of said product is in contact with a relatively movable surface comprising the composition of a thermoplastic polyurethane and an amide having the general formula: RC(═0)NHR′, wherein R is the residue of a saturated fatty acid and R′ is the residue of an unsaturated fatty acid, said amide being intimately interspersed within said thermoplastic urethane for continual migration outwardly from said surface. The amide is preferably N-oleyl palmitamide.

Abstract: A link construction suitable for use in carrying high dynamic loads between a pair of members generally consisting of an elongated member having a pair of spaced openings for receiving the pair of members, formed of a thermoplastic material, the member having an intermediate section between the openings therein provided with an I-shaped cross-sectional configuration, and a bushing disposed in each of the openings, formed of a polyurethane material.

Abstract: A process of manufacturing an article having high load absorption, durability and wear resistance properties with increased lubricity including mixing particles of polyurethane and polytetrafluoroethylene, extruding the mixture of polyurethane and polytetrafluoroethylene particles, reducing the extruded polyurethane/polytetrafluoroethylene product to particle form and molding the polyurethane/polytetrafluoroethylene extruded particles to form the article in a selected configuration.

Abstract: A wheel construction generally consisting of a hub section formed of a thermoplastic polyurethane material having a first durometer hardness and a rim section formed of a thermoplastic polyurethane material having a second durometer hardness less than the first durometer hardness, molded onto the hub section to form a molecularly adhered, integral hub and rim structure.
