  • Patent number: 11259822
Abstract: Some embodiments relate to a device for retrieving a body from within a tubular structure, the device having a proximal end and a distal end and comprising: a device body at the proximal end; a conduit extending away from the device body to the distal end and sized to be receivable in the tubular structure; at least one actuator operably associated with the device body; a first strand extending at least in part through the conduit; a second strand extending at least in part through the conduit; wherein the first and second strands are affixed at the distal end of the device, and wherein the second strand is wound around the first strand along at least a distal length of the first strand; wherein the at least one actuator is operable to cause the second strand to adopt an expanded state in which the second strand defines a trawl volume to catch the body for retrieval of the body from the tubular structure.

  • Patent number: 10080489
Abstract: This invention relates to medicine, more specifically, to the surgical treatment of intestinal obstructions using the minimum invasive (endoscopic) method. The invention provides the possibility of the surgical treatment of intestinal obstructions along the entire length of the intestine by means of stenting. The technical result achieved by the first and second subjects of the invention is providing the total surgical treatment of intestinal obstructions in the narrow and large intestine by installing a stent at an intestine obstruction location in a manner allowing further moving the stent during its positioning or removal and avoiding damage to the intestine as a result of the surgical manipulations. Said technical objective is achieved with the first subject of the invention, i.e. the method, as follows.

  • Patent number: 7955449
Abstract: A process for inducing a two-way shape memory effect in a device forward of a shape memory alloy and a device made by the process are disclosed. The two-way memory effect occurs in the device in a temperature range of between about 5° C. to 25° C. wherein the training process is based on B2R phrase transformations. An R-phase formation or reorientation takes place in the device under stress whereupon the R-phase transforms into stress induced martenite. The device is subjected to thermocycling.
