  • Patent number: 6149228
Abstract: A modular operator enclosure is provided for a wheeled vehicle such as a front mount mower or utility vehicle. The enclosure is provided with interconnected front and rear roll-bar structures which serve as a framework upon which a variety of enclosure elements can be attached. Selectively attachable to the framework are a roof element, a front windshield, rear and/or side windows and doors. Glass and metal or flexible windshields, windows and doors are available to meet differing use and weather needs. The module and its elements are quickly and easily assembled at the dealership, thereby enabling them to be shipped in a compact form. The module design provides the dealership and/or user with the option of initially equipping the enclosure with a minimum of elements and then later adding or changing the elements to thereby minimize cost and/or effort.
