Abstract: A ballistic panel carrier garment is disclosed for adaptively receiving ballistic panels of varying configurations and sizes corresponding to the size of the garment's wearer. The garment of this invention comprises a front portion and a back portion. The back portion has a back pocket-like receptacle attached thereto having an opening for receiving a back ballistic panel. The front portion has a front pocket-like receptacle attached thereto having an opening for receiving a front ballistic panel. Each of said front and back receptacles is configured and sized to closely match the configuration and size of its corresponding ballistic panel to insure that the front and back ballistic panels are supported accurately without shifting to protect the vital parts of the garment's wearer.
