  • Patent number: 6023927
Abstract: A shacke and clevis pin are provided whereby the shackle and clevis pin cannot be separated from each other. It is possible to attach a cable or a chain or a rope to the shackle. It is also possible to attach a cable or a rope or a chain to the clevis pin. The clevis pin and the shackle join to ropes and/or cables and/or chains together. There is a provision for precluding the clevis pin from being withdrawn, completely, from the shackle. Also, there is provision with the shackle and clevis pin so that one operator can connect a cable or cables to the shackle and clevis pin thereby eliminating two operators in operating the shackle and clevis pin. The spring urges a locking lever to lock the clevis pin and shackle together and to preclude the rotation of the clevis pin and shackle with respect to each other.

  • Patent number: 5364145
Abstract: This invention is directed to rotary release hook apparatus comprising a rotatable release hook of a generally circular configuration. In the release hook there is a recess for receiving a cable or a rope or a chain. The rotary release hook apparatus can be on a dock or an oil well platform or a barge or another suitable device. The cable or rope or chain cam connect with a boat or a ship or a barge or other large similar object. In the release hook there is a notch. There is a rotatable pawl having a projecting finger projecting into the notch to prevent rotation of the release hook. There is a rotatable member having a recess. Part of the pawl bears against the rotatable member. There is a release lever arm connecting with the rotatable means for rotating the rotatable member to allow the pawl to move into the recess and away from the rotatable release hook. This allows the rotatable release hook to rotate to release the cable or rope or chain.

  • Patent number: 5190435
Abstract: This invention relates to a forklift truck having a pedestal which is tiltable by a hydraulic cylinder and has an operator's cabin and forks positioned forwardly of and for movement along the pedestal.

  • Patent number: 4658748
Abstract: In the mooring of ships, boats and barges to a dock or oil well platform it is necessary to have a line run from the ship or boat or barge to the dock or platform. The line running from the dock or platform to the ship or boat or barge is under tension. This invention is directed to a RELEASEABLE HOOK which, automatically, trips and releases the line when the tension on the line exceeds a predetermined tension. The ship or boat or barge at that time is free to move. The increase in the tension in the line maybe be brought about by rough water or by a wind or other causes. This RELEASEABLE HOOK is a design to trip and release the line without an operator. The tension in the line, when it exceeds a predetermined tension or pressure on the hook, will cause the hook to automatically trip.

  • Patent number: 4611842
Abstract: This invention is for a remotely controlled release hook. The operator of the release hook is at a safe distance away from the release hook and therefore away from a dangerous and hazardous area. The operator need not travel, in hazardous conditions, to the release hook to operate the release hook. Also, the operator need not be near the release hook to release the hook and therefore is away from a dangerous area or position. The release hook is radio controlled and comprises a transmitter and a receiver.

  • Patent number: 4572565
Abstract: This invention is directed to a stopper for a wire cable or a wire rope. It comprises to channels, two jaws moveable with respect to each other in the two channels and two wedges for moving the jaws. There are no gears for moving the jaws. With the movement of the wedges partially out of the channels the wedges force the jaws toward each other so as to clamp the wire cable or wire rope.

  • Patent number: 4389907
Abstract: In the mooring of ships and boats to a dock or an oil well platform, it is necessary to have a line running from the ship or boat to the dock or platform. The line can be more or less tight and must be fixed so as to allow, relatively, sudden movements of the ship or boat with respect to the dock or platform. Then, when it is time for the ship or boat to sail away from the dock or platform, it is necessary to disengage the line from the fastening means from the dock or platform. This invention relates to a fastening means whereby a line can be positioned to the fastening means for securing the ship or boat adjacent to the dock or platform. Then, the person on the dock or platform can, by means of an electric control, if desirable, at a remote position from the fastening means, actuate the fastening means to allow the line to slip away from its fastening means and also to allow the ship or boat to sail away from the dock or platform.

  • Patent number: 4034992
Abstract: In the mooring of ships and boats to a dock, it is necessary to have a line run from the ship or boat to the dock. The line can be more or less tight and must be fixed so as to allow relatively little movement of the ship or boat with respect to the dock. Then, when it is necessary to allow the ship or boat to sail away from the dock, it is necessary to disengage the line from the fastening means on the dock. This invention relates to a fastening means whereby a line can be positioned to the fastening means for securing the ship or boat adjacent to the dock. Then, the person on the dock can mechanically actuate the fastening means to allow the line to slip away from the fastening means and also to allow the ship or boat to sail away from the dock. This fastening means is identified as a releasable hook. When it is desired to have the ship or boat fixedly secured with respect to the dock, the fastening means is in a locked position to firmly position the line.
