  • Patent number: 6536145
Abstract: A display device is provided which is formed by first and second outer panels and a third, inner panel disposed between the outer panels. The outer panels are joined together separately from the inner panel in a first portion of the device and each of the outer panels includes a slit in this first portion and fold lines therein for enabling the joined outer panels to be pulled apart and separated along the slit to expose the inner panel for display. All of the panels are joined together at a further, base portion of the device. The fold lines in outer panels provide folding of parts of the outer panels forming the base portion of the device into a support arrangement for the device. In a first state of the device, the inner panel is shielded from view by the outer panels and the inner and outer panels form a unit of a substantially flat, planar configuration, and, in a second state of the device, the inner panel is exposed for display and is supported by the support arrangement.

  • Patent number: 5608977
Abstract: A display device is provided which comprises a support portion and an integral display portion constructed in such a manner that the portions are relatively movable, through a periscoping action of the display portion, between a planar configuration of the device wherein the display portion is substantially covered by the support portion, and an erected configuration of the device wherein the display portion extends upwardly from a support formed by the support portion. The display portion comprises a display panel including a tongue which, in the erected configuration, extends through a central slot in the display portion and a base including shoulders disposed on opposite sides of the tongue. The support portion includes two pairs of serially arranged panels which, in the planar configuration, lie flat and overlie respective faces of the display panel and which, in said erected configuration, form the support for the display panel. An end panel is secured to the display panel.

  • Patent number: 5479732
Abstract: A display device is provided which comprises a support portion and an integral display portion constructed in such a manner that the portions are relatively movable, through a periscoping action of the display portion, between a planar configuration of the device wherein the display portion is substantially covered by the support portion so as to form a card-like construction, and a erected configuration of the device wherein the display portion extends upwardly from a support formed by the support portion. The display portion comprises a display panel including a tongue which in the erected configuration extends through a central slot in the display portion and a base including shoulders disposed on opposite sides of the tongue.

  • Patent number: 4403728
Abstract: The container is formed from a single blank of paperboard or the like and has an integral handle and a reusable top closure. The top closure includes flaps foldably attached to the upper ends of the side walls, to define a top closure for said container and the top flaps have foldably attached thereto integral handle elements and has locking tabs extending from two opposing ends of the handle elements. Locking flaps are foldably connected to the upper ends of the end walls and have locking slots positioned to receive the locking tabs. The locking slots extending arcuately in at least one direction to permit the locking tabs to rotate about its fold line, about 90.degree..

  • Patent number: 4378831
Abstract: The invention relates to a foldable coupon holder which incorporates a set of four contiguous panels, each panel being separated by a fold line, and two sets of two contiguous panels, each panel of the two sets also being separated by a fold line. Each of the two sets of two panels overlies and is at least peripherally adhered to a pair of panels of the set of four contiguous panels. A tab closure device is incorporated to close the device when in the folded position. Groups of slits are incorporated in the two sets of two contiguous panels to form coupon retaining flaps. The slits are offset to facilitate viewing of the coupons. The invention also relates to an attachment device for locking an article, such as the coupon holder, to another article, such as a bottle.

  • Patent number: 4373730
Abstract: A novelty or educational device having, in combination, a first panel having a group of illustration segments in a predetermined pattern, with at least one overlay panel contiguous to the first panel and separated from that panel by a fold line. The overlay panel has a plurality of window areas arranged in a pattern corresponding to the predetermined pattern of the first panel. A second group of illustration segments on the non-window areas, would be the complement of the first group of illustration segments and would correspond to the second overlay panel. The window areas are formed in a complex pattern alternating from window to solid area in both the horizontal and vertical directions thereby obfuscating the illustrations. Both the reverse and the obverse of each panel contains illustrations segments which are the complement of illustration segments of other panels, thereby providing a number of illustrations.

  • Patent number: 4360146
Abstract: The invention relates to a blank capable of being rapidly set up into a self-supporting container. The container blank has a polygonal base panel having right sides, at least ten side panels, each of which is separated from at least one other side panel by a fold line. No more than eight of said side panels are separated from the base panel by a fold line which forms a peripheral side of the base member. The side panels are in a first contiguous group and a second contiguous group. Two end members of said side panels are glue flaps. In the blank a first set of the side panels and a second set of the panels, are panels which do not share a fold line with said base panel, and each have a set of support webs sharing a common fold line with each other. Each support web panel shares a fold line with one member of said set of side panels.
