  • Patent number: 5014131
Abstract: A clutter rejection filter for use in detecting moving targets which may be employed in a passive optical acquisition system. The filter comprises a plurality of detector elements which view an image scene. A plurality of transversal filters are individually coupled to the plurality of detector elements. Each of the transversal filters amplitude weight signals provided by the respective detector elements as a function of time, with each of the transversal filters having a predetermined impulse response. Summing circuitry is coupled to each of the transversal filters for combining the output signals provided thereby into a single output signal for the filter. The filter provides output signals which are maximized for objects traveling at a first velocity and minimized for objects traveling at a second velocity.

  • Patent number: 4910693
Abstract: Am image processing method which is adapted for use in a system having memory for storing in a planar array a plurality of output data samples from a scanning image detector. The invention generates first and second hexagonal sampling patterns within a window on the array. The hexagonal sampling patterns include a first set of data samples with a plurality of peripheral data samples, defining each hexagon, and a data sample at the center of the hexagon. The first and second hexagonal sampling lattices share a common data sample. The generation of the hexagonal sampling patterns is achieved by timing the sampling of the scanning image detectors. A weight is assigned to each data sample within each of the hexagonal sampling lattices and performs a convolution operation on the hexagons to provide a final value for assignment to the common data sample.

  • Patent number: 4024505
Abstract: A system is provided for coupling an indeterminate number of peripheral devices to a central processing unit (CPU) through a single receptacle. A cable connected to an interface unit (IU) of a first device plugs into the CPU receptacle. Cables of subsequent IUs are plugged into receptacles connected to earlier plugged IUs, thus connecting the cables of all devices in series and the device IU's themselves in parallel. One type of IU is for a magnetic tape cassette and includes a timeout circuit to determine when certain types of programming errors have occurred. A binary digit is set in a status register for that and other types of errors. The status register is read under program control of the CPU, thus providing for the flexibility of haulting operation or bypassing the program section having an error for unattended operation of the CPU.

  • Patent number: 3973256
Abstract: A system is disclosed for scanning a keyboard and detecting any depressed key during each scan cycle, and for filtering out any bounce in key contacts closing and opening with a filtering up-down counter that counts up each scan cycle that the same key is found, down each cycle that a different key is also found or that no key is found, and requiring that the filtering counter reach a selected maximum before finding that a key is depressed and that the filtering counter reach zero before starting to filter another key detected to be depressed.
