  • Publication number: 20070179449
Abstract: A device 60, for administering medicated cream, includes a cartridge 62 for containing the cream, a plunger head 100 for moving the cream from within the cartridge, and a stem 106 for moving the plunger head within the cartridge. The plunger head 100 includes a tapered receptor opening 148 for reception of a tapered stem structure 114. A rib 156 is formed on the cartridge 62, and a plurality of ribs 164 are formed on the stem 106, cooperate to provide tactile notification to a patient-user that measured doses of the cream have been administered.

  • Publication number: 20070100289
Abstract: An applicator 80b is attachable to a cream—containing cartridge 62 of a device 60 for administering the cream onto an area to be treated within a body cavity of a patient. An axial passage 82 is formed in a body 81 of the applicator 80b. A plurality of slots 204 are formed laterally and radially through the body 81, which are in communication with an intermediate portion 205 of the axial passage 82 and are contiguous with an outside surface of the body. A flange 226 extends radially from the outside surface of the body 81, and is formed with a contoured surface, which provides tactile notification when the applicator 80b has been inserted within the body cavity to a desired depth.

  • Publication number: 20070093746
Abstract: A device 560, for administering multiple single doses of a medicated cream, includes a cartridge 562 having a barrel 564 for containing the cream, a plunger 608 for moving the cream from within the cartridge, and a stem 610 for moving the plunger within the cartridge. A carrier 612 is formed with a cartridge-receiving nest 712 for receiving the barrel 564. A plurality of spaced, transaxial grooves 726, 728, 730 and 732 are formed in the carrier 612 for receiving a flange 572 of the cartridge 562 during the dispensing of multiple, successive, single doses of the cream. The carrier 612 is formed with a pair of resilient ears 750 and 752 and a passage 738 for removably retaining the stem 610 with the carrier while allowing axial movement of the stem.

  • Patent number: 4765527
Abstract: A method for explosively welding a tube to a tubesheet having a cladding extending over an outer surface thereof. A layer of material is bonded over the cladding which absorbs the energy from the shock wave formed by the explosive welding, to prevent breaking up the bond between the cladding and the tubesheet.

  • Patent number: 4587904
Abstract: An explosive activated assembly for repairing a heat exchange tube in which a grooved metal casing is inserted into the tube to be repaired and has a plurality of projections extending from the outer surface thereof. A force-transmitting member extends within a bore formed in the casing and contains an explosive member so that, upon detonation of the explosive member, the force-transmitting member and the casing are expanded radially outwardly to drive the projections against the tube. A booster is located within the casing and adjacent the charge and is activated by a transfer cord connected to an externally located detonator. The casing is formed with an extension that extends over a portion of the transfer cord and has a hole through which the cord extends to contain the debris and vapor caused by the explosion.

  • Patent number: 4585155
Abstract: A patch unit apparatus and method for expeditiously closing openings in metal walls by explosive welding. The patch unit comprises a metal plate having on one side an explosive charge located near the plate perimeter, and having on the opposite side a continuous double angled recess surface. After cleaning the wall surface, the patch unit is placed centrally over an opening to be closed and initially secured to the wall by an adhesive material provided on the plate side opposite from the explosive. If necessary, a mechanical type seal can also be used for improved sealing of the patch unit to the wall. The explosive charge is then detonated to explosively force the patch plate unit against the wall at high velocity, so as to weld the plate onto the metal wall to permanently close the opening, and thereby provide substantially the original strength to the metal wall.

  • Patent number: 3948090
Abstract: A method of measuring dimensional variations in a workpiece in which two spaced points are formed on the workpiece and their images transferred to an image transfer material. After the workpiece has been subjected to a mechanical and/or thermal load and then allowed to return to its original unloaded state, the images of the points are again transferred to an image transfer material and the difference in spacing between the images of the points is compared to ascertain the dimensional changes.
