  • Patent number: 4253601
Abstract: A self closing carton or container is formed from a blank of sheet material which folds together to form the elongated carton having a triangular cross section with self closing end flaps. The blank includes four adjacent rectangular side panels of substantially equal size, the outer two side panels being overlapped to thereby form the triangular cross sectional configuration of the carton. Triangular end flaps, with tab receiving slots, extend from the lateral ends of one rectangular side panel. At each lateral end of the next adjacent side panel is a pair of interconnected triangular end flaps, at the remote end of which is an outwardly extending tab. Each pair of end flaps can be folded over a respective first triangular end flap, whereby each tab locks into its corresponding slot.
