  • Patent number: 5036991
Abstract: A push on cap for engaging a container neck is formed with inturned thickened flanges on its inner surface which cooperate with matching grooves in the container neck to retain the cap in place when the skirt is intact. A circumferential groove is formed in the skirt intermediate the inturned thickened flanges joined with a second groove extending to the bottom edge of the skirt. A tab projecting beyond the skirt is gripped and pulled causing the skirt to tear upward and then circumferentially thereby removing the lower thickened flange and permitting the top of the cap to be removed and reclosed. A rigid circumferential flange on the exterior of the skirt is spaced above the level of the uppermost inturned thickened flange and below the top of the cap has an angled gusset below the flange to prevent removing the cap by prying upwards with a fingernail prior to removing the tear skirt.

  • Patent number: 4903849
Abstract: A tamper evident push-on type integral synthetic plastic closure cap for an externally beaded container neck, the body of the cap being formed with a thin central disk region, a thicker surrounding rim region, an interior ridged inner skirt provided with an interior sloping wall portion descending from the inner edge of the rim region, and an outer skirt descending from the outer edge of the rim region, the outer skirt being provided with an arcuate, buttressed lifting tab extending horizontally from a portion of the outer skirt, two inward projecting ribs on the internal side of the skirt, a circumferential weakened region in the skirt disposed between the ribs separating the skirt into distinct upper and lower regions and a descending tear tab projecting downwardly from the lower edge of the lower region of said skirt so that lifting of the tab will break the wall of the skirt and separate the skirt at the weakened region to detach the lower skirt and rib from the remainder of the cap by tearing along the c

  • Patent number: 4289028
Abstract: A capacitance type fuel quantity gauge for a fuel tank which includes a probe capacitor in the fuel tank having a capacitance which varies in accordance with the fuel level and connected by one conductor to the output of a Lo-Z oscillator, two oppositely polled diodes connected together and to the capacitor, the positive diodes connected by another conductor to a signal conditioner and the negative diode connected to the one conductor by an inductance, the one conductor connected to the oscillator output and to the signal conditioner by a capacitor and inductance, respectively, so that the one conductor carries both the Lo-Z signal and the DC negative signal.

  • Patent number: 4281542
Abstract: A capacitance type fuel quantity gauge for an aircraft fuel tank including a probe capacitor whose capacitance varies in accordance with the level of fuel in the tank with a Lo-Z oscillator connected to the probe capacitor together with a pair of diodes for producing a DC output signal which is fed to signal processing circuitry, the diodes being disposed in a metal enclosure for isolation from interfering signals and the interconnecting leads to the diodes passing through feedthrough capacitors to block the entry of such interfering signals into the metal enclosure.

  • Patent number: 3990305
Abstract: A fuel flow measuring system for measuring the flow rate of the fuel in an aircraft and including a turbine flow transmitter which is inserted in the fuel line of the aircraft and produces an output frequency representing a functional relationship to the volume of fuel passing through the flow transmitter, the functional relationship being referred to as the K factor. A control circuit receives the output frequency and converts it into a DC valve representing the flow rate of the fuel. The flow rate is then displayed on an indicator such as a flow meter. A resistor is located in the flow transmitter and is electrically coupled to the control circuit. The resistor is set at a value to compensate for variation in the functional relationship whereas a temperature sensor, also inserted into the transmitter and electrically coupled to the control circuit, serves as a temperature compensator.
