  • Publication number: 20040156667
Abstract: A packaged cosmetic stick product comprising a (a) cosmetic composition containing, in a cosmetically acceptable carrier, at least one structuring agent in an amount sufficient to form a solid stick; said stick contained in a (b) a propel/repel container comprised of a (i) base for holding the cosmetic stick product wherein the cosmetic stick is partially extended therefrom, (ii) an A-shell affixed to the base and having length sufficient to completely house the cosmetic stick when it is in the fully retracted position, (iii) a transparent A-shell cover having a length that is less than about 80% of the total length of the A-shell, (iv) a shrink wrap holding the transparent A-shell cover to the A-shell, and (v) a cap for covering the A-shell and the transparent A-shell cover.

  • Patent number: 4809976
Abstract: An apparatus for independently exercising the limbs of a human exerciser includes mounting a pair of training members for independent pivoting movement along a pivot shaft mounted on a floor-mounted support. Each limb can be independently exercised by alternately extending and bending the legs at the knees or the arms at the elbows.

  • Patent number: 4645204
Abstract: An exercising apparatus constituting an oblong housing having handles at opposite ends that are interconnected by a shock cord which extends through the housing being looped internally of the housing by passage back and forth between sheaves adjacent opposite ends of the housing so that the length of the cord between the handles in idle condition of the apparatus is several times the distance between the handles in the latter's idle position whereby a greater length of shock cord is available for stretching from idle condition than would be available if the shock cord directly connected the handles without such looping.

  • Patent number: 4391440
Abstract: A portable lightweight body-anchored exercising apparatus for use in exercising the human body made up of a frame, a pair of ropes with free ends pullable by a user, weights for resisting the pulling forces, and a base connected to the frame and on which the user rests his body during performance of exercises to hold the apparatus in place so that it does not move in response to the generally upward forces created by the pulling of ropes by the user. Additionally, the exercising apparatus includes a pulley system to permit the user to move his exercising limbs a distance greater than the excursion of the weights, handles for the user to grasp while pulling the ropes, sheaves for controlling the movement of the ropes, and guide pins for guiding the weights so that they cannot swing outwardly and harm the user. The weights are attached to the ropes with hooks to allow them to move jointly with the ropes.

  • Patent number: 4290599
Abstract: An exercising device which relies on a pneumatic resistance element, and in which on alternate strokes air is inducted or expelled. Inner and outer telescoping cylindrical tubes are provided with handles on their outer ends for manipulating the device, by exerting force in tension, to rectilinearly expand the length of the device, and in compression, to rectilinearly contract the length of the device. A flexible resilient washer mounted at the inner end of the inner tube slidably and sealingly engages the inner surface of the outer tube. Oppositely acting check valves are provided together with respective throttling means at the outer end of the outer tube adjacent its handle. The throttling means, typically consisting of a selectively rotatable multiply apertured outer sleeve, selectively connects the check valves to the outer atmosphere, with one check valve permitting only ingress of air into the outer tube and the other check valve only permitting air egress.

  • Patent number: 4066869
Abstract: A control for selectively energizing a heater provided to raise the temperature of lubricating oil of a compressor employed in a refrigeration unit. The control includes a thermostatically operated switch provided to sense a temperature indicative of lubricating oil temperature. The switch connects the heater to a source of electrical energy when the sensed temperature falls below a predetermined value and the compressor is inoperable. When the compressor is operable, the heater is rendered inoperable irrespective of the sensed temperature.

  • Patent number: 4010506
Abstract: An oscillating toothbrush is disclosed in which an offset brushing head is integrally attached to a shank, the shank being housed with a two piece cylindrical handle. A pair of opposite pin surfaces cooperate with internally enclosed helical slots to provide an oscillating up down movement as the toothbrush moves across the surface of the teeth. The handle is provided with a rear stop surface cooperating with the end of the shank at which there is also located an apparatus of smaller diameter than the end of the shank in order to permit cleaning of the insides of the oscillating toothbrush.
