Publication number: 20240070988Abstract: A method for estimating locomotion in virtual reality performed by at least one processor includes measuring a plurality of pressure points according to a user's locomotion using a high-resolution tactile sensor including a plurality of pressure sensors, extracting a plurality of footprint images including the plurality of measured pressure points, clustering the plurality of pressure points into a first set of pressure points corresponding to a left foot and a second set of pressure points corresponding to a right foot, based on the plurality of extracted footprint images, and estimating at least a portion of a locomotion direction and a locomotion speed of the user using a first cluster corresponding to the first set of pressure points and a second cluster corresponding to the second set of pressure points.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 24, 2023Publication date: February 29, 2024Inventors: Yunho CHOI, Kyung-Joong KIM, Ecehan AKAN, Dong Hyeok PARK, Sung Ha LEE, Hyeon-Chang JEON, Isaac HAN

Publication number: 20230079062Abstract: The presently disclosed subject matter is directed to a closure assembly for use with a container (e.g., an aerosol can). The closure assembly includes a skirt and a protective cap. In some embodiments, a lock feature temporarily attaches the protective cap to the container and increases a force required for a user to remove the protective cap. In some embodiments, an inner lock opening of the skirt is configured to be registered with an outer lock opening to receive a locking element therethrough. In some embodiments, a set screw is positioned in the skirt to selectively allow or inhibit relative rotation between the skirt and the protective cap. In some embodiments, a biasing element selectively allows or inhibits engagement of threads of the protective cap with the threads of the skirt depending upon application of an axial force to overcome a biasing force of the biasing element.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 3, 2022Publication date: March 16, 2023Applicant: Four Strong IP LLCInventors: David Abels, Joshua Boggs, Todd L. Smith, Isaac Chang, Mark Harburg

Patent number: 11024187Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media storing instructions for determining cross-track error of an aircraft on a taxiway are disclosed herein. The disclosed techniques capture electronic images of a portion of the taxiway using cameras or other electronic imaging devices mounted on the aircraft, pre-process the electronic images to generate regularized image data, apply a trained multichannel neural network model to the regularized image data to generate a preliminary estimate of cross-track error relative to the centerline of the taxiway, and post-process the preliminary estimate to generate an estimate of cross-track error of the aircraft. Further embodiments adjust a GPS-based location estimate of the aircraft using the estimate of cross-track error or adjust the heading of the aircraft based upon the estimate of cross-track error.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2018Date of Patent: June 1, 2021Assignee: THE BOEING COMPANYInventors: Tyler Staudinger, Kevin S. Callahan, Isaac Chang, Stephen Dame, Nick Evans, Zachary Jorgensen, Joshua Kalin, Eric Muir

Publication number: 20210018300Abstract: A scope mount implementable on a firearm includes a base and an adjustable cantilever. The base has a first primary side and a second primary side opposite the first primary side, with the second primary side configured to accommodate and mount onto a rail on the firearm. The adjustable cantilever is slidingly installable on the first primary side of the base and is configured with a scope mounting feature to receive a scope thereon. The adjustable cantilever can be fixable at one of plural positions along a longitudinal axis of the base and on the base such that a total length of the scope mount, measured from one distal end of the scope mount to an opposite distal end of the scope mount, varies between a shortest length and a longest length according to at which one of the positions on the base the adjustable cantilever is fixed.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 15, 2019Publication date: January 21, 2021Inventor: Isaac Chang
