  • Publication number: 20100253787
Abstract: A method for providing information to a user concerning an object, which requires no user input to initiate. The method employs digital imaging equipment to capture a digital image of an object placed in a determined field of view. The digital image is communicated to a remote computer employing image recognition software to ascertain an identity of said object. Based on the identity and a relational database, information relating to said identity of said object is thereafter communicated to an electronic device proximate to the user which is capable of providing said information to said user in one or both of an audio broadcast and visual display.

  • Publication number: 20100177039
Abstract: A device for controlling a computer to input commands using only hand motion. The device employs visually distinct indicia upon the thumb and at least one other finger of a user's hand. Using cameras or other means to capture movement of the user's hand, any contact between the thumb and a finger bearing the distinct indicia is ascertained as an input command. A laser or dot projecting pointer may be controlled using indicia in the form of a line on one finger.

  • Publication number: 20050178838
Abstract: The present invention contemplates a novel method and device that combines one of more coordinate scanners which can digitize and communicate to a computer the exact location of the placement of a pointer on any designated surface and perform a variety of preprogrammed responses. More specifically, the invention relates to the methods and apparatuses used to identify specific points of indicia on a surface in front of the scanner. This surface is identified to a computer by identifying indicia such as a bar code or other manner of specifically identifying the surface. The computer will perform preprogrammed designated audio or visual or other electronic responses to identified points on the surface by matching the identified point on the surface with an electronic version of the surface in memory and a preprogrammed task for such a match. The designated surface may be flat or it may consist of a contoured surface in a wide variety of sizes and materials.

Abstract: The present invention contemplates a novel method and device that employs a coordinate scanner to monitor an identifiable surface and communicate to a computer the exact location of the placement of a pointer on any identified surface and perform a variety of preprogrammed responses. This surface is identified to a computer by identifying indicia such as a bar code or other means such as user input. The designated surface may be flat or it may consist of a contoured surface in a wide variety of sizes and materials. The designated surface may be a test enabling answers by point designation or an advertisement enabling ordering by designating products on the surface or other types of indicia on a surface.
