  • Publication number: 20210055789
Abstract: A method includes receiving information from an input device coupled to an information handling system. An eye-tracking device at the information handling system determines that a gaze point of a user has transitioned from a display device coupled to the information handling to a second display device coupled to a second information handling system. In response to the determining, the information is forwarded to the second information handling system.

  • Patent number: 10228750
Abstract: Systems and methods for reducing the power consumption of an Information Handling System (IHS). In some embodiments, an IHS may be configured to: in response to a request to operate in static display mode: (a) render static content on a display, (b) allow the processor to enter standby by notifying an OS that the display is off while keeping the display on, and (c) maintain the display refreshed with the static content; while in static mode and in response to a command that requires updating the static content, wake up the processor and generate updated static content using the processor; and after generating the updated static content: render the updated static content on the display while the processor is awake, allow the processor to re-enter standby by notifying the OS that the display is off while keeping the display on, and maintain the display refreshed with the updated static content.

  • Patent number: 9891846
Abstract: An information handling system a first controller and a solid state drive. The first controller receives an indication that a forced shutdown of the information handling system has been initiated, and triggers a cache flush command in response to receiving the indication that the forced shutdown has been initiated. The solid state drive includes a memory to store data, a cache to buffer data prior to writing the data in the memory, and a second controller. The second controller receives the cache flush command, and flushes the cache by writing the data in the cache to the memory in response to the cache flush command being received.

  • Patent number: 9779591
Abstract: A keyboard backlight event messaging system includes a backlit keyboard that includes a plurality of keys and a plurality of light emitting subsystems. Each respective light emitting subsystem of the plurality of light emitting subsystems is configured to backlight a respective key of the plurality of keys. The keyboard backlight event messaging system also includes a computing system that is coupled to the backlit keyboard. The computing system includes a controller that is coupled to the backlit keyboard and that is configured, in response to an event occurring in the computing system, to receive event messaging information that is associated with the event and activate a subset of the plurality of light emitting subsystems according to an event messaging sequence defined by the event messaging information in order to backlight a respective subset of the plurality of keys to provide an event message.
