  • Publication number: 20240138367
Abstract: An observation chamber for three-dimensional kinematic profiling of subject animals. One example system for analyzing free-moving animal subject behavior includes a housing, a transparent arena configured to hold a subject, a camera mounted below the arena, and a mirror system configured to reflect multiple images of the subject in a single field of view of the camera. A height of the housing is less than 80 inches, and a width of the housing is less than 32 inches. The system fits within standard doorway dimensions.

  • Patent number: 11297186
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for enabling communication between parties are disclosed. A system may include a first communication device associated with a first user and a second communication device associated with a second user. The system may include a first communication channel between the first user and the second user for transmitting call data between the first communication device and the second communication device. The system may include a second communication channel between the first user and the second user established concurrently with the first communication channel. The second communication channel may be separate from the first communication channel. The second communication channel may be established by connection of the communication session participants to a multipoint control unit that is configured to transmit media data between the first communication device and the second communication device.

  • Patent number: 10063261
Abstract: Communication endpoints and related methods for forward error correction (FEC) are disclosed. A communication endpoint includes control circuitry including a packetizer configured to segment near-end data into groups of near-end data packets, and a forward error correction (FEC) packet generator configured to generate at least two near-end FEC packets for each group of near-end data packets. A method includes generating the FEC packets, and transmitting the data packets and the FEC packets to a far-end communication endpoint. A communication endpoint includes control circuitry including a forward error correction repairer configured to use far-end FEC packets to repair groups of far-end data packets. A method includes receiving a group of far-end data packets and corresponding far-end FEC packets, and repairing far-end data packets with the corresponding far-end FEC packets.

  • Publication number: 20160277572
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for enabling electronic communication with an audibly-impaired user are disclosed. A system may include a relay service configured to provide translation services during a communication session between a first user and a second user. The relay service may be configured to receive near-end video data from a first communication device associated with the first user, transmit call assistant video data from a call assistant station associated with a call assistant to the first communication device, transmit and receive voice data to and from a second communication device associated with the second user, facilitate far-end video data to be transmitted from the second communication device to the first communication device, and facilitate the near-end video data to be transmitted from the first communication device to the second communication device.

  • Patent number: 9185211
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods are disclosed for enabling a first user at a first communication device to communicate with a far-end user at a second communication device via a relay service providing translation services for the first user. The communication system may be operable in a plurality of modes, including a tone mode in which an audible tone conveying a message may be transmitted to the second communication device regardless of a format of the character data generated by the first communication device. A text mode may include sending a text signal corresponding to the message being displayed at the relay service regardless of the format of the character data. Switching modes may be responsive to a determination that the far-end user is a live person. Related methods of operating the communication system are also disclosed.
