Patent number: 11235193Abstract: A resistance system is disclosed. The resistance system has a line reel system for deploying a tension line and a power system for drawing in the slack line. The resistance value can be set by a subject using the device by using a resistance controller and indicator located on an outer surface of the system. The system can be self-contained with an internal power supply. The system is particularly useful for swim training or rehabilitation. It can be simply operated by a user without removing the device.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 2019Date of Patent: February 1, 2022Assignee: University of Tennessee Research FoundationInventors: Kelsey Ann McConachie, Isaac Robert Nolan, Thao Nguyen Strong, Ryan Joseph Tinker

Patent number: 11140813Abstract: A vegetative health mapping system which creates two- or three-dimensional maps and associates moisture content, soil density, ambient light, surface temperature, and/or additional indications of vegetative health with the map. Moisture content is inferred using radar return signals of near-field and/or far-field radar. By tuning various parameters of the one or more radar (e.g. frequency, focus, power), additional data may be associated with the map from subterranean features (such as rocks, soil density, sprinklers, etc.). Additional sensors (camera(s), lidar, IMU, GPS, etc.) may be fused with radar returns to generate maps having associated moisture content, surface temperature, ambient light levels, additional indications of vegetative health (as may be determined by machine learned algorithms), etc. Such vegetative health maps may be provided to a user who, in turn, may indicate additional areas for the vegetative health device to scan or otherwise used to recommend and/or perform treatments.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 2019Date of Patent: October 12, 2021Assignee: SCYTHE ROBOTICS, INC.Inventors: John Gordon Morrison, Davis Thorp Foster, Isaac Roberts

Patent number: 9619933Abstract: A method for providing a model file to a user. The user acquires a plurality of images using a device, such as a smart phone, with at least a monocular image capture device. The plurality of images are then processed to provide the user with a model file. The model file is created by a minimization of an energy which is done using a primal-dual hybrid gradient. The model file may be used in a printer capable of printing in three dimensions. The user is either charged a fee for uploading the plurality of images, downloading the model file, or both.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 2015Date of Patent: April 11, 2017Assignee: Occipital, IncInventors: Vincent Paul Spinella-Mamo, Brandon Minor, Isaac Roberts, John Morrison

Patent number: 7522731Abstract: System, apparatus, and methods are disclosed wherewith a group of independent wireless routing devices known as Service Points work cooperatively to form an ad hoc mesh communication network. The resulting Service Point Network is used to provide reliable address-directed communication services between devices attached by conventional means (wired or wireless) to respective Service Ports on any of the Service Points. Attached Utilizing Devices are not considered a part of the Service Point Network and need not contain any custom software or hardware related to the operations of the Service Point Network. To protect the security of network communications and the integrity of the network, the Service Points are assigned internal IP addresses and unique identifiers that need not be disclosed to the Utilizing Devices. The unique identifiers in turn are used to derive public and private encryption key pairs for each Service Point.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 2003Date of Patent: April 21, 2009Assignee: Firetide, Inc.Inventors: Keith Stuart Klemba, Isaac Robert Nassi, David Neil Cornejo, Lawrence Alan Rosenthal
