  • Patent number: 9206859
Abstract: A mechanical protection device including: a transmission shaft having a main axis of rotation and an element that is frangible under a torsional overload; a movable member secured to the transmission shaft to rotate about the main axis and configured to move radially outwards relative to the main axis from a first position to a second position; a spring urging the movable member towards the first position; and a tangential abutment configured to stop rotation of the movable member about the main axis when the movable member is in the second position. The movable member and the spring are calibrated so that from a predetermined trigger angular speed the movable member moves from the first position to the second position under effect of centrifugal force greater than prestress of the spring.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 12, 2012
Date of Patent: December 8, 2015
    Assignee: TURBOMECA
Inventors: Olivier Pierre Descubes, Olivier Bedrine, Isabelle Germaine Claude Ladeveze, Jean-Michel Pierre Claude Py

  • Patent number: 8297404
Abstract: The soundproofed exhaust duct for a turbine engine comprises a perforated inner shell defining a flow passage, and a solid outer shell, the inner and outer shells defining between them a space that is closed at the upstream and downstream ends of said space. A core extends between the inner and outer shells at a distance therefrom, and contains at least one sound energy dissipating layer made up of hollow beads that are held against one another. A frame with upstream and downstream portions connected together by longitudinal members supports the core and partitions it into a plurality of boxes that are filled with hollow beads that are held between perforated textures, the frame being secured to the outer shell and/or to the inner shell via at least one of its upstream and downstream portions.
