  • Patent number: 7788074
Abstract: The invention stimulates production of an oil reservoir by determining a flow simulator from physical data measured in the oil reservoir; determining a first analytical model relating the production of the reservoir as a function of time by accounting for parameters which provides adjustment to production values closest to the production of the reservoir, the first model providing adjustment to the production values closest to a production values provided from the flow simulator; selecting at least one new production value, which is obtained from the reservoir simulator; and determining a second model by adjusting the first model so that the second model interpolates the new production value.

  • Patent number: 7590516
Abstract: A method for quantifying uncertainties related to continuous and discrete (qualitative) parameters descriptive of a medium such as an underground zone and/or for managing the selection of a scenario from a series of possible scenarios relative to this medium, by construction of experiment designs and results analysis suited to the experiment designs constructed.

  • Patent number: 7430501
Abstract: The method of the invention is applicable to oil production to obtain the impact of technical and economic uncertainties on the economic profitability of a reservoir and/or to optimize the position of a new well in order to meet a development strategy. The invention includes in stage 1, uncertain technical parameters having an influence on the reservoir production are selected; in stage 2, an analytic model expressing the reservoir production in the course of time is determined as a function of the parameters selected in stage 1, from production values obtained by means of a flow simulator; and in stage 3, a model expressing the economic profitability of the reservoir is determined as a function of the technical and economic parameters, from the analytic model determined in stage 2.

  • Patent number: 7054752
Abstract: A method for optimizing the production of oil reservoirs, and notably the production schemes, while taking into account uncertainties inherent in any reservoir survey. The method sequentially has the following stages: Stage 1: A sensitivity study to evaluate the impact, on the production of the oil reservoir, of the production scheme configurations tested (several well sites, . . . ) in relation to the uncertainties specific to the reservoir (permeability, aquifer force, . . . ). Stage 2: A quantification study of the risks associated with the configurations being studied to determine whether it is necessary to seek an optimum production scheme. Stage 4: A production scheme optimization study: having, the goal to determine the ideal production configuration for a given objective.

  • Publication number: 20060047489
Abstract: The invention stimulates the production of an oil reservoir by carrying out a sequence of steps of constructing a flow simulator from physical data measured in the oil reservoir; determining a first analytical model relating the production of the reservoir as a function of time by taking account of parameters having an influence on the production of the reservoir, the first model best adjusting to a finite number of production values obtained by the reservoir simulator; selecting at least one new production value, this new value being obtained by the reservoir simulator; and determining a second model by adjusting the first model so that the second model interpolates the new production value.
