  • Patent number: 4761523
Abstract: Herein disclosed is a gas switch comprising: a body casing having an arc-extinguishing gas such as the SF6 gas and the like confined therein; bushings having their inner end portions inserted into said body casing; a rod-shaped stationary electrode and a hollow stationary electrode attached to the inner end portions of the bushings movable electrodes contacting with the rod-shaped stationary electrode at all times and made movable into and out of contact with said hollow stationary electrode; insulated bearing sleeves bearing the movable electrodes, respectively; a plurality of rocking arms for rocking in association with the turn of a drive shaft so that the movable electrodes are linearly moved through the insulated bearing sleeves by the rocking motions of the rocking arms to open and close the gas switch; and a connecting mechanism for connecting the rocking arms to the insulated bearing sleeves, respectively.

  • Patent number: 4723058
Abstract: The present invention relates to a gas switch provided with a body case wherein a switching unit is installed and an arc-extinguishing gas such as sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) or the like is enclosed at a constant pressure, and an actuating mechanism for operating the switching unit. When a pressure of the arc-extinguishing gas comes lower than a predetermined value, a lock member is disposed to a working position whereat it engages with the actuating mechanism, the actuating mechanism is thus locked unoperatably, and a display member is ready for observing externally in accordance with a shift of the lock member. Operators then carry out works for maintenance and check of the gas switch as ensuring the state wherein a gas pressure drops in the body case and the actuating mechanism has been locked.

  • Patent number: 4152532
Abstract: A feeding electrode of a heating means is a hollow cylinder with an open lower end, and is mounted on a frame. An arc-generating electrode is also mounted on the frame, and is disposed inside the feeding electrode. The lower end of the feeding electrode is immersed in a molten metal pool contained in a ladle. An electric arc struck between the arc-generating electrode and the molten metal pool inside the feeding electrode heats the molten metal pool.

  • Patent number: 4142479
Abstract: Disclosed is a novel and improved magnetic separator or filter, as well as an apparatus for making such a magnetic separator. Each filter cell comprises a base plate and a plurality of fibrous filter elements made of magnetizable material and secured to the base plate. The filter elements extend in a mutually parallel spaced relation and substantially perpendicularly to the direction of flow of the fluid and to the plane of the magnetic field.
