  • Patent number: 6595623
Abstract: There is provided a plastic base material having a reformed layer 2 formed on a plastic substrate 1 by reforming the surface layer thereof into a component containing fluorine at the ratio of the number of fluorine atoms to the number of carbon atoms, F/C, of 0.85 or more and 1.30 or less, and having highly durable water repellency and ink repellency. The method of manufacturing such a plastic base material comprises a step of reforming the surface of the plastic substrate 1 into a fluorine-containing carbon layer by imparting a specific energy to fluorine-containing plasma by applying an RF bias voltage to the plastic substrate 1 to form a surface having highly durable water repellency and ink repellency. A highly durable ink-jet printer that enables high-quality printing can be provided by the use of a head for an ink-jet printer fabricated by using this plastic base material.

  • Patent number: 6099241
Abstract: To cope with recent LCD or PDP of larger size, an efficient transfer technology is demanded in manufacturing a larger substrate. It calls for a transfer method for such larger substrate with a less required space, and a substrate transfer cassette enabling such method. A technology is disclosed, which comprises a substrate transfer cassette (50) containing a plurality of substrates, a dolly (55) for loading the substrate transfer cassette (50), and a plurality of cassette holders (70) having a rotating arm (71) which can rotate in the vertical direction, wherein a substrate cassette (50) is transferred from a position near another cassette holder to a position near a destination cassette holder with the dolly (55), raised by the rotating arm (71) on the destination cassette holder (70) from the lower section to the upper section of the dolly (55), and moved from the dolly (55) to the cassette holder (70).

  • Patent number: 5132506
Abstract: A vacuum evaporation apparatus has a melting pot containing evaporating material therein and a movable partition. A surface of the evaporating material is separated into a supplying surface (whereinto a Cr-Co material rod of replenishing material is supplied) and an evaporating surface (whereonto an electron beam is irradiated) by the partition only during deposition of evaporating material onto a substrate. After finish of the deposition, the partition is lifted and is apart from the surface.

  • Patent number: 5098742
Abstract: A method for supplying a vacuum evaporation material provides a first vacuum evaporation material accommodated in a crucible and heated by electron beams so as to be fused. When a thin film is formed by adhering vapor generated form the first material to a substrate, a second long supply vacuum evaporation material is fed in a positive direction, the second material moving from above a liquid surface of the first material toward the first material which has fused in the crucible. An average feed speed of the second material is maintained by alternately switching a feed direction between the positive direction and the negative direction, in which the second material moves backward. An apparatus for supplying the vacuum evaporation material in which the first material is supplied to the crucible by alternately switching the feed direction between the positive and the negative directions, includes an operating circuit for performing the following calculation based on an instruction of an average supply speed (V.
