  • Patent number: 6840973
Abstract: An air cleaner is provided which is effective to retain a cleaner element 3 in a heteromorphic shape and which has an increased cleaning capability and an assemblability. The air cleaner includes a cleaner element 3 made of a urethane foam and formed in a tubular form having an endless wall and operable to pass an air therethrough in a direction across the thickness of the cleaner element to purify the air. The cleaner element 3 when viewed from top represents a heteromorphic shape, and first and second retainer plates 7 and 8 made of an elastic material effective to retain the heteromorphic shape of the wall, which plates 7 and 8 are bonded to upper and lower end faces of the cleaner element 3. The cleaner element 3 together with the first and second retainer plates 7 and 8 is carried by a holder assembly 4 and is accommodated within a cleaner housing 1 together with the holder assembly 4.

  • Patent number: 4792544
Abstract: A heat sensitive recording material comprising (A) a color forming substance, (B) a developer capable of bringing the color forming substance into color image by heating and (C) a binder, characterized in that the component (B) comprises at least one diphenyl compound having the formula (I): ##STR1## The heat sensitive recording material can give satisfactory color sensibility, color density and printability in recording process at low temperature and high speed compared to conventional heat sensitive recording materials. Further, there are wholly observed the black fog on the surface of recording paper before recording and the black spot in contact with diazo photosensitive papers.

  • Patent number: 4501223
Abstract: A coating apparatus comprising a support assembly, a support moving mechanism for pivotally moving the support assembly about a horizontal axis, an applicator supported by the support assembly upwardly and downwardly movably, a position detector for detecting the raised or lowered position of the applicator, a pair of distance sensors attached to the support assembly and arranged one above the other at a distance for detecting the distance from the work surface to be coated, and a control unit connected to the position detector and to the distance sensors for causing the support moving mechanism to pivotally move the support assembly in response to detection signals from one of the distance sensors closer to the applicator to hold the applicator at a substantially constant distance from the work surface. Even when curved in the direction of the height, the work surface can be coated uniformly because the substantially constant distance is maintained between the applicator and the work surface.
