  • Patent number: 6897760
Abstract: A circuit breaker includes a rectangular box-shaped intermediate housing and lower housing; a power supply side fixed contact and a load side fixed contact disposed in the intermediate housing and facing each other; and a movable contact housed in the lower housing for bridging the power supply side fixed contact and the load side fixed contact. The lower housing has arc gas emission holes formed in front and rear walls thereof, and is connected to a lower part of the intermediate housing via an engagement part such that the lower housing covers the lower part of the intermediate housing. A thin wall portion is formed in each of the front and rear walls to eject arc gas by bending.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: May 24, 2005
    Assignee: Fuji Electric Co., Ltd.
Inventors: Hisao Kawata, Isamu Ohshima, Yoshimi Jumonji, Katsunori Kuboyama, Tatsunori Takahashi

  • Patent number: 6472971
Abstract: A circuit breaker includes main circuit contact shoes disposed in a circuit breaker case and urged by a contact spring, a contact opening and closing mechanism located above the contact shoes and including an opening and closing lever, a toggle link, an opening and closing handle and a latch, and an overcurrent tripping device located above the contact shoes. The toggle link includes a first link extending between the opening and closing lever and a toggle shaft located above, and a second link extending between the toggle shaft and the latch to overlap the first link in the V-form, and an opening and closing spring extends between the toggle shaft and a tip of a handle lever coupled to the opening and closing handle to extend downward. As a result, a space occupied by the contact opening and closing mechanism section in the height direction can be reduced to make the circuit breaker more compact.

  • Patent number: 5965874
Abstract: A method to obtain polarization characteristics of an optical transmission medium is disclosed. Sequentially plural different states of polarized light are launched into the optical transmission medium. Intensities of light emerging from the optical transmission medium through combinations of optical elements are measured to obtain Stokes parameters from which Stokes vectors describing the emerging light corresponding to each of the plural sequentially launched states of polarization are obtained; for at least three different launched states of polarization, descriptors are used of these launched states of polarization and the Stokes vectors describing the corresponding emerging light to calculate a Jones matrix which mathematically models the changes that the launched light when described in terms of a Jones vector is subject to when passing through the optical transmission medium; and, the Jones matrix is used to describe the polarization characteristics of the optical transmission medium.
