  • Patent number: 5324434
Abstract: A filter of a water purifying apparatus main body which is housed in a sink is made as a positive electrode, and a DC voltage is applied, by a dry battery cell, between the filter and a negative electrode in a purified water passage. Thus, microbes are prevented from proliferating in tap water which remains in the water purifying apparatus main body. A discharge pipe of the water faucet used exclusively for purified water is made as a negative electrode, and a DC voltage is applied, by the dry battery cell, between the positive electrode in the outlet of a cartridge and the discharge pipe. Thus, microbes are prevented from proliferating in tap water which remains in the water faucet used exclusively for purified water.

  • Patent number: 5281330
Abstract: A water purifying apparatus of compact construction. The water purifying apparatus has a water channel for receiving water via an inflow passage and discharging water via an outflow passage. An electrically conductive filter is disposed in and fully occupies a portion of the water channel for purifying water flowing through the filter. A first electrode is electrically connected to the filter, and a second electrode, disposed in the filter, is electrically connected to the filter via water flowing through the filter. A battery supplies voltage between the first and second electrodes. A switch controls application of the voltage from the batteries to the first and second electrodes. A circuit board having a control circuit is disposed above the first electrode, the second electrode and the switch. The circuit board is electrically connected to the various electronic components.

  • Patent number: 4844793
Abstract: A fuel heating type fuel filter device having a fuel filter assembly and a fuel heating device connected to the fuel filter assembly. A fuel filter element is housed in the fuel filter assembly. The fuel heating device includes a housing having a fuel passage which is connected to the fuel filter assembly. A heater is disposed in the fuel passage to heat the fuel and liquify a solidified wax component contained in the fuel. A wax sensor is provided in the housing to sense the amount of solidified wax contained in the fuel. A switch is housed in the housing and turned ON to supply an electric power to the heater when the amount of solidified wax is more than a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 4539108
Abstract: A fuel filter device for use with diesel engines has a manually operable pump section and a filter container housing therein a filter element and detachably attached to the pump section. The pump section has a manually operable diaphragm facing a chamber having fuel inlet and outlet respectively communicated with a fuel tank and the filter container. The inlet and outlet are provided with valves responsive to the fuel pressure at the inlet and to a pressure variation caused by the diaphragm in the chamber to allow the fuel to flow through the inlet into the chamber and through the outlet into the container in which the fuel flows through the filter element and out of the container to a discharge port of the pump section. An electric heater is disposed in the chamber adjacent to the path of the flow of the fuel in the chamber. A fuel temperature or pressure sensor is disposed downstream of the filter element to provide a signal for the control of the electrical supply to the heater.
