  • Patent number: 4945391
Abstract: A semiconductor device includes a laser diode and a light receiving element arranged on a common surface of a substrate and a monitor laser beam from the laser diode is reflected by a reflecting plate to the light receiving element. With the arrangement of the laser diode and the light receiving element on the same surface of the substrate, die-bondings and wire-bondings for the laser diode and the light receiving element can be performed in a single step. Thermal stress due to heat generation of the laser diode is minimized by a use of a sub-mount between the laser diode and the substrate.

  • Patent number: 4875098
Abstract: A CCD register, for example a horizontal output register of a CCD imager, includes an output precharge circuit with a capacitance. The voltage across the capacitance is supplied to an output terminal of the CCD register and has first, second and third durations repeatedly. The first duration is a precharge, the second duration is a reference duration, and the third duration is a signal. An output signal processing circuit provided for the CCD register includes a clamp circuit for clamping the output signal at the output terminal of the CCD register in such a manner that the voltage of the reference duration becomes a stable clamp voltage; a clip circuit for clipping the output signal of the clamp circuit in such that the voltage of the precharge duration is clipped to a clip level; and a low-pass filter supplied with the output of the clip circuit for generating a transferred signal.

  • Patent number: 4821100
Abstract: An image signal compressor having a controller for adjusting the compression start potential in such a way as to decrease it with increasing highest peak voltage level of three chrominance signals to be compressed, in addition to three first resistors, three diodes and three second resistors. Therefore, even if one of three chrominance signals rises excessively high, it is possible to always compress the chrominance signals below a predetermined level without limitation by limiter circuits, thus preventing the chrominance signal having an excessively high peak voltage level from being regenerated in white on a cathode-ray tube. The signal compressor is applicable to a monochrome image pickup tube or solid-state image pickup elements as well as a color image pickup tube or color solid-state image pickup elements.
