  • Publication number: 20050206347
Abstract: A power supply apparatus has a battery and a temperature detection circuit. The battery has n battery cells, and the temperature detection circuit has m temperature detection units. Each temperature detection units has a temperature sensor that is thermally coupled to one or more of the battery cells and whose electrical resistance decreases as the temperature of the battery cell or battery cells to which it is thermally coupled increases, a serial resistor that is connected in series with the temperature sensor, and a first diode whose cathode is connected to the node between the temperature sensor and the serial resistor. The serial circuit formed by the temperature sensor and the serial resistor receives a predetermined voltage such that, as the electrical resistance of the temperature sensor decreases, the voltage at the node decreases. The first diodes have anodes thereof connected together.

  • Patent number: 6747844
Abstract: If a floppy disk (200) is inserted into a disk drive unit, a link member (52) rotates due to the movement of the floppy disk (200), and a slide piece (61) recedes from under a projecting piece (131) of an upper head support arm (121). In consequence, the distal end of the upper head support arm (121) descends, so that an upper head which is mounted on the distal end of the upper head support arm approaches a lower head which is mounted on the distal end of a lower head support arm.

  • Patent number: 6571150
Abstract: An automatic vending machine 1 of the invention can sell items or goods including tangible items such as drinks and intangible items such as music soft which are supplied by plural vendors. The intangible items are sold by transmitting the desired data from intangible item-supplying companies A, B, C through a public communication line 8 to the automatic vending machine 1 and by writing the data in a recording medium. A control computer 20 automatically calculates sales amount of each vendor based on sales data of each vendor output from the automatic vending machine, and adjusts the sales amount of each vendor by transmitting the calculating result to a banking agency 6. According to the management method of automatic vending machine and the automatic vending machine of the invention, automatic sales of items supplied by different vendors can be easily spread at low cost and without securing both of new installation places or sites of the automatic vending machine and communication lines.

  • Patent number: 6516997
Abstract: A card issuer first visually confirms that a person who requests the issue of a user card is an adult. The card issuer then issues a user card on which data unique to the card has been previously recorded. The person writes his (her) name, address and the like on the card. The card is then inserted into a card reading section. An apparatus for identifying minors performs certain processing of the data unique to the card read in the card reading section to output an identification number unique to the card, which is displayed on a number display. The user memorizes this identification number as a code number. In buying a product, the user inserts the issued card into the card reading section and, in addition, inputs the code number through a ten key. When the identification number of the card is identical to the input code number, the apparatus for identifying minors outputs a sale permission signal.

  • Patent number: 5677570
Abstract: A semiconductor integrated circuit device is provided for high-frequency or high-speed circuitry having stabilized characteristics and reduced influence on surrounding devices. In the device structure, ground leads extending from a metal substrate or metal layer for mounting ICs for high-frequency or high-speed circuitry are disposed adjacent to at least one side of signal leads and a width W or a space S of at least a part of the leads are set to inherent values for reducing the inductance of ground leads. Further, passive circuit chips for short-circuiting or blocking a high frequency signal are mounted on the metal substrate to suppress high-frequency component signals flowing through power supply leads and ground leads.

  • Patent number: 4501397
Abstract: A method of stabilizing flight of a flying body having a circular cross-section by the use of a plurality of tripping wires, when the flying body flies in an air current at a high angle of attack with respect to the air current. And also a flight-stabilized flying body having a circular cross-section, comprising at least two tripping wires attached to the periphery of said flying body. The tripping wires are attached to the outer periphery of the flying body, by which an asymmetric side force acting on the flying body is reduced, thereby suppressing bad motion of the flying body, such as, rotation around the center of gravity of the flying body in a plane of an attack angle, i.e. the flat spin, yawing and the like motion. In a case of attaching two tripping wires to the flying body, an optimal angle of wire attachment for suppressing the undesirable motion resides in a region from 60.degree. to 45.degree. for the non-dimensional wire height of a region from 0.007 to 0.014.
