  • Patent number: 5586428
Abstract: Provided for a spinning machine, a roving bobbin changing apparatus which includes a roving end finding/pick-up section equipped with a roving end finding/pick-up mechanism at a leading side as viewed in a direction in which the roving bobbin changing apparatus is moved for roving bobbin exchange, and a roving tying/bobbin exchange section equipped with a roving bobbin exchanging means at a trailing side. The roving tying device is so disposed as to be movable between the roving end finding/pick-up section and the roving tying/bobbin exchange section. The roving tying device can be moved by a belt to a new roving grasping position in the roving end finding/pick-up section and a roving tying position corresponding to that of a full roving bobbin transfer means in the roving tying/bobbin exchange section.

  • Patent number: 5279105
Abstract: A chip collecting system for a bobbin replacing apparatus wherein roving chips and fleece are temporarily accommodated in a chip collecting chamber of the bobbin replacing apparatus through a suction pipe. Upon arrival of the bobbin replacing apparatus to a position that opposes a chip removing system, a communicating member is connected to the chip removing system to communicate the chamber to the outside, whereupon the roving chips in the chamber are removed by the chip removing system.

  • Patent number: 4582270
Abstract: A method of transferring full packages in a spinning frame having a plurality of spinning stations arranged in a row on each longitudinal side of the frame, a single run package transferring conveyor disposed between the opposite rows of the spinning stations and a doffing unit which provides doffing service at each spinning station while traveling around the machine, is provided herein. The doffing unit performs its doffing service at a station which calls for doffing of its full package only when a package is absent on the conveyor at a position corresponding to the station at which the doffing unit is then stopped, but it defers its doffing operation at the station if a package is present at said corresponding position on the conveyor. The conveyor is caused to move when the number of those packages which are undoffed due to deferment amounts to a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 4565278
Abstract: A method of transferring oppositely but randomly oriented yarn packages from a spinning machine to a subsequent operation comprising moving the spinning machine conveyor on which the yarn packages are so disposed to deposit one of the packages onto a package turning means and stopping the conveyor; sensing the orientation of the package while on the package turning means; turning the package turning means in one direction or the other responsive to signals from the sensing means so that all sequential packages will be removed from the turning means facing in the same direction; moving the package off from the package turning means and sensing whether or not the package has been so removed; and again moving the spinning machine conveyor responsive to the sensing of the first package having been removed from the turning means.

  • Patent number: 4534517
Abstract: Method of automatic doffing in a spinning unit is disclosed. Automatic doffing apparatus for use in practicing the method includes a bobbin loading device for carrying an empty bobbin to a donning position in the spinning unit, and the loading device has a pushing member which is movable with the loader. As the package is released from a bobbin holder and then supported adjacently to the bobbin holder, the loading device is moved forwardly toward the donning position. On the way to the donning position, the loading device pushes the supported package away from the donning area with its pushing member. The bobbin brought to a donning position is held by the bobbin holder. According to the method, unloading of a package and loading of an empty bobbin is made by a single motion, or advancing, of the bobbin loading device.

  • Patent number: 4263696
Abstract: An apparatus for depositing sliver into a sliver can is comprised of a rotary turntable for supporting a sliver can. A cylinder having a piston slidable therein is vertically disposed beneath the center line of the turntable. A pressing rod is connected to the piston and a pressing plate is rotatably mounted on the top end of said pressing rod for engagement with a bottom plate of the can which is freely supported therein. An axial lost motion connection is provided between the pressing plate and the pressing rod and a coil spring is connected between the turntable and the pressing rod to couple the turntable and pressing rod plate together for rotation and for urging the turntable and pressing plate apart.
