  • Patent number: 6130744
Abstract: Since disks of the same type are loaded in a disk device using a conventional disk changer scheme, the disk device is not versatile as a peripheral device of a computer. ROM disks and RAM disks are mixed and stored in a magazine, and this magazine is loaded in the disk device. In the disk device, a tray is identified in step by a detector arranged on the tray to check whether the tray be a ROM disk or a RAM disk. Thereafter, discrimination information is recorded, together with the contents information, on an IC memory arranged on the magazine in step. Thereafter, when the magazine is loaded again, the discrimination information is read from the IC memory, and an operation corresponding to each disk is performed.

  • Patent number: 6111367
Abstract: A D/A converter outputs analog voltage in a range of 0 to 2 V in accordance with a digital value in a range of 0 to 31 outputted from a light emission control unit, and supplies the analog voltage to a voltage/current conversion unit. Driving current outputted from the voltage/current conversion unit is controlled on a 1 mA unit basis in a range of 0 to 31 mA in accordance with the digital value. Driving current outputted from a voltage/current conversion unit is controlled on a 4 mA unit basis in a range of 0 to 124 mA, and driving current outputted from a voltage/current conversion unit is controlled on a 20 mA unit basis in a range of 0 to 620 mA. The voltage/current conversion units are on-off controlled in accordance with range designation signals, respectively. Accordingly, the luminance of the LED can be controlled in a wide range and accurately even in a low luminance level.

  • Patent number: 6094143
Abstract: A driving unit generates a driving current corresponding to a light generation control signal CTL supplied from a light generation controlling unit. The driving current is supplied to an LED. Light emitted from the LED impinges on a light receiving circuit through a space of a monitoring area. The received light level of the light receiving circuit is converted into a received light level signal RLV in an A/D. The received light level signal RLV is supplied to a smoke detecting unit and the light generation controlling unit. The received light level signal RLV is monitored in a short period by the smoke detecting unit. When the received light level signal RLV is equal to or lower than an alarm level, an alarm signal ALM is output. The light generation controlling unit compares the received light level signal RLV with a reference level in a long period.

  • Patent number: 4254322
Abstract: A narrow weld-groove welding process, in which a bare welding wire is fed into a weld groove defined between the opposed surfaces of two pieces of metals for producing a metal arc therein for welding. In this process, a welding wire is subjected to a plastic deformation of a wave form, before being fed into a nozzle hole provided in a contact tip, and then the wire is fed into a nozzle hole, while maintaining elasticity tending to cause waving, whereby the tip of a welding wire being fed through a nozzle exit is automatically waved between the opposed surfaces of metals to be joined, with the tip of wire being alternately faced in the opposite directions, in response to the weaving motion thereof, with the feeding of the welding wire and progress of welding. In addition, the apparatus for use in a narrow weld-groove welding process is also disclosed.
