  • Patent number: 6708516
Abstract: An air conditioner having an air blower (1) for air blowing, a front heat exchanger (2) and a rear heat exchanger (3) respectively provided on the front side and the rear side of an indoor unit (10) so as to surround the air blower (1) and for carrying out heat exchange between the indoor air and a refrigerant, a rear drain pan (11) provided under this rear heat exchanger (3) and for receiving drained water, and an air blower air path (4) formed around the air blower (1) and narrowed near the front end portion of the drain pan (11). The lower portion of the rear heat exchanger (3) is located rearward in comparison with the upper portion of the rear heat exchanger (3) so as to be inclined backward.

  • Patent number: 5987914
Abstract: In a refrigeration cycle using a cooling medium circuit in which a compressor, a heat-source-side heat exchanger, a decompressor, and a user-side heat exchanger are connected successively for circulating a cooling medium, and refrigerating machine oil having no or extremely low mutual solubility to the cooling medium; an internal diameter of a down comer in which a liquid phase cooling medium flows from the upstream side to the down stream side in the refrigeration cycle is adjusted so that the flow velocity of cooling medium in the down comer is made to be higher than that at which refrigerating machine oil floating in a cooling medium goes down.

  • Patent number: 5263335
Abstract: An operation controller for an air conditioner designed to decrease a difference between an ambient temperature and a set temperature by varying the number of revolutions of a compressor, includes: a means for calculating an operation ratio of the compressor; and a means for determining the range of varying an operation frequency of the compressor in accordance with the operation ratio.

  • Patent number: 5176568
Abstract: There are provided a plurality of groups 14 and 34 which are arranged in an outlet of a main body, and which comprise blowing direction deflecting plates 1, 2 and 3, and 21, 22 and 23; rotational angle setting means 41a and 41b which are provided for the respective groups 14 and 34, and which set rotation angles of the groups 14 and 34; rotational angle limit detection means 42a and 42b for comparing preset limiting rotation angles of the groups 14 and 34 to the set rotation angles; and rotational direction reversing means 43 for reversing the rotational directions of the groups 14 and 34 when at least one of the groups 14 and 34 has reached the limiting rotation angle. Blowing direction of conditioned air can be adjusted while constantly keeping an arbitrary phase difference in blowing direction between the groups.
