  • Patent number: 4714423
Abstract: An evacuating device for a plunger molding apparatus including a material cylinder for receiving a blank to be extruded, a ram head slidably engageable in the material cylinder, a hydraulic plunger having a piston connected to the ram head, an evacuating cap provided slidably in an air-tight manner on the piston and having evacuating pipes, and a blowdown valve provided in the ram head for closing and opening an air blow aperture formed in the ram head. The ram head has a flat surface which is in contact with the blank in the material cylinder. An O-ring is arranged in the flat surface of the ram head about the air blow aperture. The blowdown valve consists of a stem and a head which is brought into contact with the flat surface of the ram head through the O-ring when the ram head is being advanced, thereby improving the air-tightness between the ram head and the blowdown valve to prevent the ceramic batch from entering the air blow aperture.

  • Patent number: 4702138
Abstract: A cutting apparatus for ceramic green shaped bodies is disclosed, which comprises a cutting frame having two arm portions arranged side by side in the widthwise direction of the ceramic green shaped body. A cutting fine wire directly extends about the two arm portions through a roll arranged in each of the arm portions. The arm portions are moved toward a cutting direction of the ceramic green shaped body to move the cutting fine wire extended about the rolls into the ceramic green shaped body to cut it. The cutting fine wire is moved reciprocally during the moving of the cutting fine wire across the ceramic green shaped body, and while moving the arm portions toward the cutting direction of the ceramic green shaped body.

  • Patent number: 4646418
Abstract: A carrier for a flat photomask substrate having peripheral edges comprises a frame, a handle, a shaft, primary rings, and a spring. The frame has two ends, a periphery, and a shape with one side open. The handle has two ends and is journaled to one of the two ends of the frame. The shaft is provided through the one end of the frame and one end of the handle. This shaft allows the one end of the frame to pivot in a freely rotatable manner about the one end of the handle. The primary rings are arranged at the other end of the frame and at the one end of the handle. Such primary rings support the peripheral edges of the flat photomask substrate. The spring extends between the one end of the frame and the one end of the handle. This spring presses the primary rings into contact with the peripheral edges of the flat photomask substrate.
