  • Patent number: 6189831
Abstract: A slit curtain separating apparatus for separating a smoking area and a non-smoking area, defined in a passenger cabin of an airliner, with respect to cigarette smoke includes a curtain wall, which is suspended from the ceiling of the passenger cabin and extends along the boundary between the smoking and non-smoking areas. The curtain wall has slit curtains arranged individually over left- and right-hand aisles of the passenger cabin and a center curtain located between the aisles. The separating apparatus further includes a vent port array on the ceiling of the smoking area. The vent port array has aisle vent ports corresponding individually to the aisle and a center vent port located between the aisles. Smoke filled air in the smoking area is discharged from these vent ports.

  • Patent number: 5931408
Abstract: A base (17a) of a flat end engaging member (17) which protrudes from a hole (19) is fixed on an outside surface of a flange (15) installed at each end of a winding drum (14) in such a manner that the end engaging member (17) is fitted in a groove (16) provided at least at one point of an inside surface of the flange (15). A guide portion (18) is continuously provided on an upper side of the groove (16). The guide portion (18) is an inclined surface extending obliquely upward from each corner of the groove (16) to an outer peripheral edge of the flange (15). An engaging fragment (17b) which is bent toward a guide portion (18) side is provided in a tip portion of the end engaging member (17). Furthermore, the guide portion (18) and the engaging fragment 17b are provided with engaging portions (20) and (21) comprising recesses which are concaved in the same direction, respectively.

  • Patent number: 4613167
Abstract: An insulating pipe joint is disclosed. The joint comprises a first tubular member, a second tubular member comprising a cylinder having the same inside diameter as that of the first tubular member and an annular metal stopper at one end of said cylinder, and an insulator made of a glass/mica composition and a cured organic, solventless resin. The annular metal stopper has an inside diameter larger than the outside diameter of the first tubular member, and the annular metal stopper nests the first tubular member with a space left between them. The insulator fills the space to hold the first and second tubular members in position and provide air- and water-tightness, and secures the insulation creeping distance between each tubular member.

  • Patent number: 4486546
Abstract: A process for preparing a heat resistant soft composite which comprises hot-pressing a mixture comprising talc powder and mica powder as major components and a bonding material composed of normal boric acid, boric acid anhydride and zinc oxide, at a temperature of from 160.degree. to 200.degree. C. under pressure of from 50 to 100 kg/cm.sup.2 to form a composite, and subjecting the composite to heat treatment at a temperature of from 450.degree. to 500.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 4466793
Abstract: The present invention is a heat treatment jig for use in the baking process, the frit seal process, and the evacuation process during the manufacture of cathode-ray tubes. It comprises a base and one or more support members formed from a novel material comprising mica, talc, orthoboric acid, boric acid anhydride, and zinc oxide molded under heat and pressure. This novel molded material is superior in its mechanical properties to the substances (asbestos tape, asbestos cement, or boron nitride) used for the support members of conventional heat treatment jigs. In addition, it does not pose a danger to health like asbestos products and it is far lower in cost than boron nitride.

  • Patent number: 4436831
Abstract: A calcined member for arc-extinguishing chambers which are installed in electromagnetic contactors and magnetic circuit breakers for high-voltage applications. The calcined member consists of an inorganic composite material obtained by molding and heat-treating a starting material under pressurized condition, the starting material comprising 10 to 50% by weight of a mica powder as a base material, 10 to 50% by weight of a magnesium oxide as a charging material, and 25 to 60% by weight of a mixture powder of boric acid, boric anhydride and zinc oxide as a binder.

  • Patent number: 4412010
Abstract: An arc resistant insulator composed of a composite composition comprising an insulating base material and a zinc borate hydrate. The insulating base material is composed of aluminum oxide and/or aluminum hydroxide and mica power. The zinc borate hydrate is composed essentially of 2ZnO.3B.sub.2 O.sub.3.3H.sub.2 O. The arc resistant insulator is prepared by mixing the insulating base material with a zinc borate hydrate forming material composed of normal boric acid, boric acid anhydride and zinc oxide and heating and compacting the mixture thus obtained in a closed system at a temperature of at least 155.degree. C. under pressure of at least 50 kg/cm.sup.2.
