  • Patent number: 8445807
Abstract: A wire material having a copper-zinc alloy layer, which is formed by action of thermal diffusion, and a zinc layer on its circumference surface is subjected to processes, including from a step of drawing the wire material to a step of reducing the diameter of the product, to reliably crash the copper-zinc alloy layer into particles. The particles are embedded in the circumference surface of a core to integrate the diffusion alloy layer and zinc layer with the core and prevent the diffusion alloy layer and zinc layer from falling off from the core. In addition, in order to cover cracks formed in the copper-zinc alloy layer during wire drawing with a zinc thin film, wire drawing is performed at temperatures appropriate for maintaining good malleability and ductility of zinc.

  • Publication number: 20100163529
Abstract: An electrode wire for wire electrodischarge machining includes a core made of copper or copper alloy, a pure zinc layer formed by hot-dip galvanizing the core, and a relatively thin copper-zinc alloy layer formed by mutual thermal diffusion across the interface between the pure zinc layer and the core and having a zinc concentration gradient. The electrode wire is not cracked during its production. The thickness of the copper-zinc alloy layer, the gradient of zinc concentration, and the thickness of the outermost pure zinc layer can be controlled by selecting the dipping time and the temperature of the hot-dip galvanizing bath as appropriate. By blowing a non-oxidizing gas from a bath surface zinc purifying and wiping device disposed above the bath surface through which the core emerges from the hot-dip galvanizing bath, the pure zinc bath surface is kept exposed and runs and uneven thickness of the galvanizing layer are prevented.

  • Patent number: 5834698
Abstract: A composite cable with built-in signal an power cables is mainly used as a control cable for a machine tool and the like. The composite cable contributes to reduced cost, downsizing, higher reliability and higher safety, which are obtained because only a single cable needs to be laid, instead of the conventional cable, which requires multiple cables to be laid. In the composite cable with the built-in signal and power cables, a flat signal cable formed by a plurality of insulating cores arranged in parallel in the lengthwise direction, and having alternately repeated combined portions and separate portions is spirally wound into a roll around one or more power cables provided in the center of the composite cable. The power cables each have a large conductor size. A first shield is optionally provided around the flat signal cable. A second shield is optionally provided around the power cables. A sheath is provided around the flat signal cable or the first shield.

  • Patent number: 4992625
Abstract: A multi conductor cable with a sheath having improved mechanical flexibility is provided. The cable comprises a ribbon cable in which a plurality of core wires are connected parallel in same sections to each other and in other section, the plurality of the wires are separate. These sections are arranged alternately in the longitudinal direction of the ribbon cable. The transversely central portion of the ribbon cable is curved into about S-shape, which offers superior elastic properties. Side portions of the ribbon are wound around the central S-shaped portion to form the core of the cable according to the invention.
