  • Patent number: 5793494
Abstract: A CRT display device having a housing which includes a ground terminal and an opening, and a CRT (cathode-ray tube) which includes a shadow mask, a tube face of the CRT being irradiated with an electron beam through the shadow mask, thereby displaying a picture in a whole region of the opening; comprising an electrically conductive shield which confronts a part of the CRT display device which extends from a peripheral edge of the shadow mask to a peripheral edge of the tube face. The shield is connected to the ground terminal. The shield makes it possible to readily fabricate a CRT display device which can prevent alternating electric fields and electromagnetic waves from leaking out of the tube face without degrading the display performance of the CRT.

  • Patent number: 5621611
Abstract: A display device can be capable of suppressing electromagnetic interference and be easily disassembled into pieces of different materials such as plastics and metallic materials. A duct is formed in a part of a plastic frame and a shielding case having resilience is pressed from above into position on the duct. Furthermore, modules are attached on the frame, which is then mounted to the body of the device. Thus, the lower part of the shielding case contacts the metallic bottom chassis to thereby shield cables of a front module. Thus, the plastic material of the front module and the metallic material of the cable shielding case and others, being separable into different pieces, can easily be recovered for recycling purposes.

  • Patent number: 5365285
Abstract: A CRT display unit provides for reduced electromagnetic radiation emission by encasing a video amplifier for amplifying image signals sent from a computer and a CRT device for displaying the amplified image signals within a chassis; coating conductive films on the external and internal surfaces of the funnel section of the CRT envelope; covering the circumference of the panel section with a metal rim band; fastening the envelope to the chassis via metal fixtures installed on the rim band; electrically connecting the conductive film coated on the external surface to the rim band by means of a first conductive member; and electrically connecting the space between the rim band on the panel section fastened to the chassis via metal fixtures and the chassis using a second conductive member.
