Patent number: 5152327Abstract: An apparatus for providing a warning of the rotation of a spindle for a machine such as a wood working machine which gives a warning while a spindle continues to rotate due to inertia even after a motor driver for a spindle motor for rotating the spindle is interrupted thus enhancing the safety of operation of the machine. The apparatus comprises a warning device for warning that the spindle is rotating, a rotation detecting device for detecting rotation of the spindle and continuously generating, while the spindle is rotating, an electric signal independently of whether the motor driver is operative or inoperative, and a controller for discriminating between the presence and absence of an electric signal from the rotation detecting device and controlling the warning device in accordance with a result of the discrimination.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 1991Date of Patent: October 6, 1992Inventor: Isao Shoda

Patent number: 5120033Abstract: A workpiece is placed on a plurality of supporting cylinders which are projected upwardly from an upper plate or a hollow table body. All of the supporting cylinders normally assume a lowered position at which lower end faces thereof contact seat portions in a chamber of the table body so that attracting pads provided at upper ends of the supporting cylinders are disconnected from the chambers. Accordingly, even if the chamber is put into a negative pressure condition, the workpiece is not attracted to the attracting pads. Then, compressed air is supplied to the pneumatic cylinders of those supporting cylinders which fall within a horizontal area of the workpiece to lift those supporting cylinders. Consequently, the lower end faces of those supporting cylinders are spaced away from the seat portions to allow communication between the attracting pads and the chamber by way of air sucking passageways formed in the supporting cylinders to suck air through the attracting pads.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 1991Date of Patent: June 9, 1992Inventor: Isao Shoda

Patent number: 5115168Abstract: A power supply circuit for a magnetron adapted to supply microwave energy to an electrodeless discharge bulb is disclosed. The circuit includes a rectifier coupled across a commerical AC voltage source, a filter for smoothing the output of the rectifier, an inverter for converting the DC voltage supplied from the filter into a high frequency AC voltage, a step-up transformer for stepping up the high frequency AC voltage outputted from the inverter, and a rectifier which rectifies the high voltage AC output of the transformer into a unidirectional voltage which is supplied to the magnetron. The inverter switching is controlled by a pulse width modulation control circuit to maintain the magnetron output power at a predetermined level.Type: GrantFiled: November 20, 1990Date of Patent: May 19, 1992Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Isao Shoda, Hitoshi Kodama, Kazuo Magome, Akihiko Iwata, Kenji Yoshizawa, Masakazu Taki

Patent number: 4957148Abstract: A chip removing device for a multi-head machine tool which is reduced in cost, facilitates maintenance thereof and allows adjustment of the distance between adjacent working heads by a comparatively great amount. The device comprises a duct having a slit formed in a lower wall thereof, and an expansible shutter for normally closing the slit. A connecting pipe extends upwardly from each of the working heads, and upper end portions of the connecting pipes extend in an airtight condition through the shutter into the duct. When a working head is moved, the shutter is partially expanded and contracted following the working head to maintain the closed condition of the slit. A seal plate is secured horizontally within the duct and disposed commonly to the working heads.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 1989Date of Patent: September 18, 1990Inventor: Isao Shoda
