Publication number: 20040035114Abstract: A gas turbine combustor comprises a premixed combustion burner disposed on the periphery of a pilot burner, an approximately cylindrical combustor liner disposed on the downstream side of the premixed combustion burner, which defines a combustion chamber in the liner. The gas turbine combustor is characterized by further comprising flame stabilizers radially disposed at the exit of the premixed combustion burner, and a fuel injection means with which the pilot burner is provided injects at least one of gas fuel and liquid fuel, in which a plurality of air nozzles are provided which are located outside the pilot burner and inside the premixed combustion burner, and which spout out air into the combustion chamber. Adequate combustion can be accomplished with a combustor which is capable of using gas fuel and liquid fuel, and at the same time, NOx can be reduced.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 7, 2003Publication date: February 26, 2004Inventors: Akinori Hayashi, Shinichi Inage, Hiromi Koizumi, Isao Takehara, Kazuyuki Ito, Toshifumi Sasao, Hidetaro Murata

Publication number: 20040011055Abstract: The purpose is to improve the mixture ratio of a pre-mixer by a simple arrangement to form a more uniform premixed gases so as to materialize low NOx combustion. Two fuel nozzles disposed circumferentially of a pre-mixer are combined with a single air intake window to make a set, which set is used to produce swirls in a pair, thereby expediting mixing. Further, the inlet window is shaped such that its circumferential width is changed axially of the combustor, thereby changing the strength and size of the swirls to achieve the greatest effect. By reducing both the pre-mixer inlet windows and the partition walls in number, the manufacturing cost can be reduced, and by strengthening and optimizing the swirls, a combustor with superior low NOx performance can be provided, while it is possible to reduce the length of the pre-mixer necessary to obtain the same mixture ratio, leading to a cost reduction.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 31, 2002Publication date: January 22, 2004Applicant: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Hiroshi Inoue, Tomomi Koganezawa, Nariyoshi Kobayashi, Masaya Ohtsuka, Kazuyuki Ito, Isao Takehara
