  • Patent number: 5818122
Abstract: A circuit breaking control unit receives an impact detection signal that is outputted from outside when an impact such as a crash of a motor vehicle has been detected, and generates and applies a circuit breaking control signal based on the impact detection signal. A circuit breaking unit forcibly interrupts a power supply path and stops the supply of power to a load. Therefore, the supply of power can be stopped immediately at the time the impact has been detected. In addition, a second load is a minimum electric system that is essential to cause the motor vehicle to travel. Therefore, even if the supply of power to the load is interrupted, the motor vehicle can be caused to travel. Hence, even at the time of an accident or the like, the motor vehicle can be moved to the edge of a road or the like with ease.

  • Patent number: 5300755
Abstract: An arrangement and method for establishing an electrical and mechanical connection between electrically conductive members. The arrangement includes an electrically conductive connecting member, two electrically conductive metallic members disposed opposite each other, flanking the connecting member, and clamping the connecting member therebetween, and a source of laser energy oriented such that an output beam therefrom is incident on an outer surface of one of the metallic members and directed towards the underlying connecting member to establish a weld connection at zones of mutual contact between the connecting member and the respective metallic members. The connecting member includes a cable or the like and the metallic members include contact terminals, busbars or the like.

  • Patent number: 4937795
Abstract: An access alarming method and apparatus for activating an alarm in the event of the access of a working vehicle, such as a road roller, to an object, such as a worker, in the same working area as the vehicle. An ultrasonic wave transmitted by a transmitter on the object is received by a receiver on the vehicle. The received signal is processed and used to determine the relative position of the vehicle with respect to the object. An alarm is activated, and/or the vehicle is braked when it is judged that the object is within a hazard area determined in relation to the position and course of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4713015
Abstract: A connecting structure for the high voltage resistance wire used to feed a high voltage to, for instance, the ignition plug of an engine, has a high voltage resistance wire for noise suppression which has on one end a connecting terminal which can be fitted to a high voltage terminal that has a cylindrical insulator on its circumference. An insulating soft elastic cap is attached to the high voltage resistance wire and surrounds the connecting terminal, which is fitted to the high voltage terminal. The cap also is fitted to the cylindrical insulator of the high voltage terminal. A rigid holder is inserted on the outside of the elastic cap, and is fitted closely to the outer periphery of the connecting portion of the elastic cap and the cylindrical insulator.

  • Patent number: 4288337
Abstract: A lightweight mixed dielectric and a manufacturing method thereof is described, which is prepared by mixing metal-coated expanded particles of plastic, glass or silica, thin-wall metal pipes or metal coated thin-wall plastic pipes and uncoated expanded particles of plastic, glass or silica and then forming the resulting mixture into a desired shape by thermal expansion or by the use of binder with the provision that these uncoated expanded particles are only made of plastic when the forming step is carried out by thermal expansion.
